LOL Your showing off again I see , Thanks for your comments @ you Now THAT deserves an LOL! Really? What pool of experts can you name here in British Columbia that does not include Thomas Steenburg? Can you answer that question Look at it objectively for a minute Someone is claiming to be working on the definitive guide to sasquatch Would you not contact Who wrote the FIRST book on sasquatch in Alberta - Thomas Steenburg Who is the only active researcher in BC that knew all of the famous researchers of the 1960's and 1970's AND worked with most of them - Thomas Steenburg Who arguably has spent the most time doing field research here in BC - Thomas Steenburg Who has written three books and co-written two books on sasquatch, the latest being on the chronilogical history of sasquatch sightings in BC - Thomas Steenburg Who arguably has the largest collection of sasquatch sightings in BC on file - Thomas Steenburg I could go on but you get the picture Perhaps the gentleman doing the movie plans on contacting Thomas or maybe he doesn't The fact is that among researchers, Thomas and his work here in BC is highly regarded and he is the go to guy for information on sasquatch research here in BC

I will let you all in on a little secret , I am a rookie Sasquatch investigator but I have Video files of Witnesses Statements that I am making a Documentary with.
Only it will be free on the Web , it is a few years away I have been studying on the topic including on this site. maybe my next one I can sell - dreaming yes.
It will be a Video of statements not of photogenic Sasquatches.

I see the Sasquatch field as needing New Blood with New Equipment and New levels of fitness allowing healthy researchers to go deeper stay longer and film better.
Think about that before crucifying me , its going to take more effort to make this film then you would expect.
It would be nice if the logging road investigators pooled their gas money to fund a Real search , with food caches, a Satellite phone etc. and have a healthy m*th*rf**k*r go into the woods for you ?
You might make headway with a young mans legs as depended on the logging roads is very limiting.

Now, now, don't go killing each other.......(and this is for all forum participants in general and not just the two of you) On the other hand, it would be a big plus to have Thomas in there too! He just nailed it in Bigfoots Reflection.......but billr, wouldn't you also include John Green, John Kirk and John Bindernagel too? Just asking. For me, I would be more than happy to check out the film.

When a cult speaks together they expect you to fall in line or there will be trouble.
I get the distinct impression I am in trouble and being told who to admire.

Nothing of the sort You have taken offense to things that just are not there
Not once did I tear the film down However my opinion stands British Columbia is the birthplace of the sasquatch legend as we know it today
Anyone claiming to do a definitive movie on sasquatch would have to include BC and Thomas
You are free to feel differently
If you want to stick around in the cryptid world you will need to develop a thicker skin, where you don't take offense everytime someone disagrees with you

For me, I would be more than happy to check out the film. John Green is no longer active in the field and his health isn't great, I honestly don't know if he would be up to film and interviews now. As for the others I would certainly not exclude them or for that matter people I disagree with IMHO opinion if someone is truly trying to do a definitive guide to sasquatch, they will need to do a series of films The world of sasquatch research today is much different than 20 years ago Today you have: Skeptics Sasquatch as a forest people group Sasquatch as an inter-dimensional and/or paranormal group Sasquatch as a relic hominid and/or primate group Regional differences in sasquatch descriptions which some groups claim are different species while others claim are variations of one species Not to mention looking at historical sightings and how they have changed over the years Why technology has improved over the last 50 years while at the same time the quality of evidence has not

Very true........a series of films would make the most sense as cramming too much info wouldn't be a wise move when considering making a 'definitive' film about the field.

And here is the heart of the problem Earlier in this thread you claim to be a rookie investigator And here you already know everything about those that came before you and what they may or may not have done I sincerely wish you good luck in your endeavors, but I doubt that you care

@ Paul Garetano
Some folks have discussed or reached out to me in the past about their movie ideas; I've had my own ideas about a documentary. My conversation always echo what you say your movie will be about. I agree that you have no control over what other people say or portray on your behalf. Instead of using the word "movie" to describe your historical coverage of the topic, which is a primer that I have also pitched in the BF community, perhaps the word "documentary" would be better suited. Tomato \ tomato though right?
The interest in BF really took off after Monster Quest and forums like the BFF were full of wild speculation and "experts". A person new to the topic would really have to scrap to get any real top-down view of the BF community and the research history. At best one could find some famous names and efforts going way back, but articles that really tied it all together couldn't be found, not in any concise wiki kinda way.
If any of you haven't seen RACING FOR EXTINCTION I seriously encourage you to do so, and use this as an example of effective fact forwarding media.
Paul Garetano - you produce something like this for the BF community and include the recounts of people like Thomas Steenburg, then you'll have something. You do less and let your work stand on the accounts of charlatans and nutcases and the likes of the Todd Standing's you'll be immediately dismiss and on the "straight to DVD - nothing really to see here folks" train. woot woot allll aboard . . . .
For the record, I'm not saying that anyone actually knows everything, especially myself. I'm saying that folks who are and have been serious about the subject still DON'T know everything, and we really don't have the tolerance to digest much speculation and fantasy. There are different camps in the BF community, those who believe in UFOs, in teleportation, telepathy and so on. The bf community as a whole is like a religion or cult. This is something you can include as a topic.
"Like MONTAUK, BIGFOOT will blend fact and fiction,"
My post and apparent dismissal is a challenge to keep the fiction in check, thanks but we just don't need it. We really aren't going to warm up to something like the Animal Planets' MERMAID THE BODY FOUND episodes, that's sheer rubbish. I'm not critical OF your idea, I'm critical because in this study everyone has to remain as objective and diligent for the truths and facts as possible - something that most forums and researchers lack. If you don't want post production Cri-ti-cisms then strive to deliver something palatable as suggested for the broad audience as you propose.
I don't think I'm unfair for airing my pre judgement and opinion on this topic. Now you've heard what I have to say, and I've heard directly what you have to say. This is the dialog that needed to happen to vet rumors no? Perhaps you'll take to heart the suggestions in this thread and I wish you success if you do.
