Everything? What's to LOL? I thought you were serious about the subject, I must have misjudged.
We talk down researchers, let alone some film maker that really isn't all that knowledgeable on the subject. We don't need another
Charles B Pierce or a
Jim McCullough Jr combining factoids and fantasy on the subject. If I wanted to watch "The Legend of Bullnuts County" I'd just watch Mountain Monsters on cable and live with the IQ drop.
I mean really, what the sam hells is he going to say or portray in a movie that we don't already know better than him? And since we really know nothing, what is it that he hopes to cash in on? Answer = $ . . . cash itself. Makes me wonder if he's friends with Phat Moneytaker.
Monster Chronicles sounds like the movie versions of Monster Quest. I'm not dying with anticipation.
Hello Folks/"Captain Morgan."
Please ease up on the doubt and pre-mature judgment call before you have a chance to actually check out my picture.. I can't help how a few misinformed "journalists" present my topic. That language wasn't in my press-release. The guy didn't seem to care much about the pertinent info that I sent him. What can I do?
His "FICTION" sentence was all his. He simply doesn't believe.
I've been diving into my own research as deep as possible. I'm interested in the stories and theoretical research but mainly I'm interested in experiencing this for myself. Captain, it's not important that you KNOW MUCH MORE THAN I DO about the topic. Besides, how can you possibly figure that by not seeing my movie and never speaking with me? Regardless you can't make a definitive picture about this topic and JUST make it for the guy that KNOWS EVERYTHING ALREADY. How exactly would that be constructed? Movies don't work that way and, as an avid reader, I'm pretty sure you can't write a book for the guy who knows everything either. I think what's more impossible than making that movie is the idea that ANYONE knows EVERYTHING on this particular topic. I've devoured every good-book on the subject, and counting. I've also been out in the field. I have my own experience to draw from. Not just second-hand or theoretical information.
NO. This movie NEEDS to cover the rich history from the early ideas on to now. It has not been covered properly.
There are books that are fantastic by John Green, Jeff Meldrum, Bryan Sykes, William Munns, and even Patterson's original book but nobody has made a great movie on the subject. I'm making that movie right now.
When making something definitive you MUST cover the provenance of the subject matter. You MUST make it for everyone and that included people who don't know anything on the subject.
It's not going to be some cheap drive-in joke. I wouldn't waste my time and money making that crap.
I say "definitive" because all of the essential history and lineage will be presented in a two hour movie. It certainly could lend to a larger body of work but I have a good plan and I'm the one making the sacrifices to move forward on this.
As far as I can see nobody is even TRYING to tackle this subject the right way. I'm going for it.
This is an independent project. There are no studios behind it and I'm open to hear any suggestions from you fellas as I'm still working on it. I have a solid vision for this but I'm interested in hearing as much as I can from people who have ingested and digested the material for years.
If you're not interested in getting involved then please have a look at my movie when it's finished. I'm happy to show it to you folks in a private (internet streaming) screening room before anyone else has a chance to see it. I think you're going to be pleased.
Best Wishes and thanks for your time.
