I have been recently in the market for some MREs - does another have a good line or suggestions on where I can find them? I am hoping to pay no more than $10CND for each meal ... but I'm having some trouble in finding any.
Thanks Richard

Are you looking for military or civilian grade and why? What about MTN house meals they last like 20 years and are not effected by heat like MRE's that are sitting in a hot vehicle can cut their edible life span to much less than half. Have you looked into making your own with store bought items many more options if you cross the boarder? Or getting a dehydrator and/or you can get freeze dryers now also but rather expensive.

I would like to have Military if possible, mainly as I am told they have a better shelf life. However, my main reasoning is emergency food in a grab bag, without the need to use water as I would with Mnt House Meals. I was hoping someone on the list bought them and would have a decent source for them. Mnt Meals are fine for home usage, but not too sure about back of the truck. I never did think about going to the US for grub - great idea .. will have to check that out! Cheers Richard

They have lots of cheap eats at walmart down their check out Hormel Compleats I dont know how long the expiry dates are for them but their is lots of other stuff you can eat out of a can or package and way way cheaper than MRE's Many of the Military MRE's usually only have a couple years left to go well the ones I have come across in the last 10 years anyways...
