It seems that a Sasquatch, or any other mammal, for that matter, could display red eye glow (reflected light) if it is suffering from cataracts, or one of several other conditions affecting the lens. I feel that reports of eyes actually producing red light, rather than reflecting ambient light, are simply a misinterpretation of what the witness is seeing.
Nice find, billr. I see that you're making good use of your vacation time ;-)

Remember when they are talking about eye glow, this is independent of other light sources This means it is not eyes reflecting other light sources

The author of the article you linked to definitely refers to the reflected light from his torch (flashlight) as eye "glow", not eye "shine". There seems to be much confusion over which is reflection, and which is light produced by the eye itself, which does not occur in any known mammal, though some sea creatures and insects actually have light that shines from their eyes, known as bioluminescence. The words "glow" and "shine" are interchangeable in common usage, so some confusion is inevitable, I guess.
