I don't recall any sightings, but there is a looong valley that stretches along the Ross Reservoir - from just south of Hope down into Washington state - almost due south. Some twenty years ago I was driving around looking for new fishing areas and followed one creek/river, to another and so on and ended up on Ross Lake (in BC). Drove along the lake shore (maybe 25 km ) and ended up in Washington state - the only indication that I had gone from Canada to the US, was a park ranger post alongside a fence, about midway down the lake. When I got there the place was deserted and I just ambled through at walking pace. The lake shore and water was scattered with tree stumps where trees were logged for the dam and reservoir construction. After reading this post and the mention of the local sightings and the movement of the creatures, it struck me that the valley that Ross Lake is in, would be an ideal route for migration up and down the mountains and still away from urban areas. Really pretty close to Cultis Lake, Chiilwak and Hope. Just a thought that this area might be of interest to someone in the FV. I really didn't get interested in or learn of the fairly frequent BF sightings over the years, until six years or so ago - and I lived in Abbotsford for 17 years! I guess some of us is slower than others right Cheers Anyway, might be an area worth checking out.

I spend most of my time in that valley. We will be there on Sunday morning after the brunch in Harrison. Thomas, John and Bill are taking us up to the location of the Feb 2011 sighting, which is only 50 meters or so past the first bridge on the east side of the road. Aloha, Jason
