Most topics revolve around sightings reports and finding old evidence like tree twist, prints, hair or scat. But ever wonder how they can just disappear without a trace? One of the reasons for this IMO is their tree usage. Consider an average 8' Bf and then add another 5' arm length for his reach to his height. That's 13' with the strength and ability to climb and jump from tree to tree like an ape. So with that said there's numerous reports of them being spotted in trees. Sometimes they even jump down right in front of witnesses. IMO they use them for scouting, resting, hunting and avoiding ground dwellers. So the next time your on the trail of fresh prints or the trail stops suddenly don't forget to look up. You may be surprised that you are being watched by a very patient and still as stone dark shapes with eye's. JMO tracker,

Did you rule out a porcupine? Though I do agree that it would make sense that they send their young'ins up in trees as sentinels or for protection. Other primates do, including humans.

Good point Vilnoori , but no i didn't forget the porkies. lol. In some areas with big strong trees the adults climb as well. There's reports of them jumping down right in front of people as well as being seen in trees. Now that would test a persons heart! BOO. lol
