After having watched the Travel Channel shows, and Discovery Channel shows on Bigfoot, I think that is a big part of the problem, they go itno the woods, set up a big "bigfoot" camp to research and find "the bigguy" and everyone, inculding Helen Keller would know they are out there."
Right on the money jonz, Living in the trees undetected is an art that takes years of practice.

Just as an afterthought...do trail cams come with wide-angle lenses? After all..Squatch is a big guy. All you might get is a furry elbow in a shot. (Which would probably turn out to be a squirrel's back leg!

If They could hear the cams. Wouldnt setting them up by a river or creek drowned some or all of the sounds of the camera out? I agree, for one there is not enough cams, two the percent of the cams that are outside the traditional human areas of forest penetration is prob. pretty low??

I think it could be done, and the idea of setting up near a river or other water source is a good one (in a high sighting area). You'd need to camo tape over the shiny bits and any lights it might make, and you'd be limited to open areas in bright daylight. You'd probably want to hang it pretty high so as to get a wide angle view, but not so high that old sas just looks like a blurry black bear. Then there's the weather proofing aspect of things to consider, and the scent...and, of course, the money! lol

You can have all the technology in the world but if you go into a high sighting area BF will see you way before you see him. Which is probably why all those gadgets don't work, it knows where they are. I always say the only dumb thing in the woods is us. lol
