Caught an interesting Coast to Coast program Sun April 8 featuring Sas researcher Todd Standing. Apparently hes promoting a petition to make Sas an endangered species and the Canadian House of Commons is considering it? Claims to have unknown knowledge of behavioural tendancies and video footage shot in Rocky Mountains.
There was also a guest named Buggs who claims to have shot two Sas in 70's in Texas Panhandle. They were buried with location known.
I thought it was interesting so figured i would throw it out there. Believe you need to sign up with a fee to listen to archived shows.

Yup i listened to that program i still don't understand why they continued to chase it after shooting it the first time, they realized that it was a bipedal, and that it had such a close resemblence to a human, this guy is fricken nuts they should of let it run off and die, instead they ended up killing the female too thats pretty sad

If they did dig them up I wonder if they'd consider the bones human. Probably just as human looking as H. floresiensis bones, anyway. Maybe the guy'd be booked for murder. I hope so.

As far as Buggs shooting the original Sas...thinking it was a bear. I can forgive for that. The second is potentionaly questionable. I got to figure the attitude was a little different back in the 70's without the public knowledge or conscience. Its definatley sad thou. Mabey buddy will dig them up for the Silvanic guy. Apparently Art Bell has the map with exact locale and upon this individuals death can dig up? Would like to see this Sas thing recognized as it may be a little idealistic but protected status and Sas Nat. Park would be cool....lol
Do you either of you guys go out to the woods and do field work?

I'm a lady actually, and a novice at this, though my daughter may have had a sighting near our home last summer. There's a post on this site somewhere about it. She was washing supper dishes near a window, and the dog started going nuts barking. It was August, by the way. So she went out onto the deck which looks over the back yard to see what he was barking at (brave, crazy kid) and let him in. He raced into the house. She came running back to me really freaked because she saw a tall totally black manlike figure in the night, standing close to the 3 stairs going up to the deck. And when she came out on deck she saw it take a leap into the bushes near the house. She couldn't figure out why it was so totally black. She thought it was a spook because it was so black (no eyes or anything) and it moved so extremely fast it seemed like it just disappeared. And yes, there is a lot of trees behind that house and it is adjacent to a golf course that has wooded borders and is near watery creeks that connect up to the Fraser. It is right across the Fraser from the Deroche area, where there have been sightings in the past. So it is possible, but unfortunately no proof. And we're talking little mountain, right here in Chwk--not somewhere far out in the bush! We don't know for sure. It could have been a tall prowler with a blacked face, and a powerful jump. How he managed to be brave enough to enter our fenced back yard with the dog barking to stand and watch my daughter wash dishes, I don't know. I still wonder.

Oh, you know what, I just remembered something else. My 3 yr. old talks about "playing with the sasquatches in the back yard." She said, and I quote, "the mommies and kids are nice but the daddies are big and mean." Now that is wierd stuff. Sure, maybe she was just picking up on the conversations and making up a story, but all the same, I'm glad we moved!

Just curious. Howdy novicebutbeliever: Yes mostly along the creek and river beds plus lake shore lines which are the most likely areas to reveal tracks. Todd Standing is the fellow whom is trying to get the Sasquatch protected by law be having his member of Parliament introduce a petition which he is having folks who come see his homemade documentary in Edmonton sign. I'm afraid they will probably AL chuckle if it is introduced in the house, Unfortunately! The reason I thought you might be him is he was known to have posted on the BFF sight using NOVICE as his call sign. Or so the rumors say. Hes not the first to try I remember a fellow who tried the same thing back in 1980 from Calgary. His name escapes me just now but no one every hears from him anymore and his petition never made to the house floor. Others have tried here in B.C as well just getting the polite brush off. vilnoori don't ever shut off that open mind my dear just encase something is seen in the yard again, Thomas steenburg

Tnks for the info Thomas. Once the weather gets a bit nicer im gonna break myself in and start heading up to Harrison area on weekends. Thinkin im gonna bring some bear spray as well..The whole sasquatch thing is an intrigueing situation. For a primate that appears to be adept at being alusive it sure seems like they are spotted alot over the years. Wish someone could solidify the existance and get the ball rolling with preservation of parks and protected status.
