My 2 bits added. I'm a "knower", having seen one 35 years ago, but I feel they don't need, or want, our help, and will continue to roam the backwoods as they see fit, whether this petition or any other similar "do good" effort is ever enacted or not.

Earlier this year a guy posted a video of a grizzly bear running uphill and then dying of an apparent heart attack Ideally if sasquatch exists this would be the best scenario

Yes, it is much better for animals to die painlessly and naturally as possible. I can only imagine the agonies animals, both known and unknown, could go through in the wilderness.

Go through in the wilderness . . . you mean with a bullet in the back?

Or any injury and/or wound that is particularly hard on the animal (though not necessarily a bullet in the back) and that includes injuries that are accidentally self-inflicted (like severely twisting a leg) or after a confrontation with another animal, etc. Hope that clarifies.... but really just any traumatic, painful or agonizing experience an animal could go through while living in the wilderness.

If the Doctors oath was in the wilderness everything would die of starvation but would have excellent pain management ! example A twisted ankle might be bothersome to some but to a mountain Lion it means the Cubs are eating tonight

I witnessed a fawn with her belly ripped open screaming in pain while a coyote had about 15 feet of her intestines pulled out
Death in the wild is often not painless or quick
