I have a strong tip
Tashis was the FIRST settlement on Vancouver island (not the tip haha)
I read A book on Tashis that spoke of the early times in its history when catholic priests (way before the diddlers I suspect) were in Tashis to convert the local Natives.
Which brings me to the story
One of the local natives who was one of the hunters for the tribe headed up the Tashis river for a hunting venture. But instead ended up missing for weeks , when he finally returned to the village he refused to EVER go hunting again , and never did.
The Native hunter told the Priest his story which the Priest wrote down and its still on record.
He , The Native hunter headed out for a hunting trip up the Tashis river.
After some hours of walking he got *snatched* up and was carried under the arm of a Sasquatch for many hours until they reached a *gully* or tight bluff of some type with cliffs on both sides where he was carried down to a *sheltered cave*.
Where a Clan of 7 or more Bigfoot's were gathered ! frightening. but he lived with for weeks before he was able to make a escape.
Its been about 10 years since I read the story , it was in a Book called the early history of Tashis (or something like that) it was in the Vancouver island regional library and can be taken out on loan. Its a rare book imo but available.
It is published and was written by a lady who lived in the area and found the history valuable.
Being the *first* settlement on Vancouver island it has plenty of history.
look into the story , I think others are reporting the same story to have taken place in the 1950's but I believe the true origin of the story is from the early early priests of the 1700's , if I remember it right..
Warning / tip For Tashis I strongly recommend bringing a shotgun along.
The place is REMOTE
