So far, 1. A road side sighting along Hwy 7 near Mt. Woodside. April or May. Source: Thomas Steenburg. 2. Vocalisations from Long Island and Echo Island (on Harrison Lake). June/July. Source: someone reported to the last offical WCS meeting (right, GC?) 3. At least two reports from west of Quesnel. July. Source: Sebastian's archaeology friends from the north. Currently, I am trying to find out the details.

It been a slow summer for the WCSRO.
We have only recieved 10 or 12 reports from the website & only 4 or 5 of them were worthwhile.

Strange how when you become aware of these creatures all of a sudden things happen. My daughter was washing dishes in our house, whose kitchen window overlooks a green belt on the north side of Little Mountain here in Chilliwack. The dog all of a sudden started barking like crazy. So my daughter (she is 12) went out on the deck to see what it was and to let the dog in. She got the scare of her life, because she says there was something black, human shaped, and as tall as the Rose of Sharon bushes (9 ft?) standing next to our house within the dog fence. She said it had a fuzzy black, human outline like a man and was totally black. Granted it was dark. She felt wierd, too, she said, kind of sick and panicked. Pheromones? Anyway, she called me down and I got everything closed up and locked (windows, everything was open because it has been hot). She continued washing dishes but felt like she was being watched. Totally freaked her out, she had trouble sleeping that night.
Trying to remember when it happened, I think Saturday night last week, maybe the 18th of Aug, just after it got really dark, maybe around 9 PM.
The next day I went out around noon and looked for tracks but the sprinkler had been on in the morning and had probably washed anything like that away.
Come to think of it, we have been chucking our watermelon peels out over the hedge into the trees, also corn cobs. Plus we have our young 3 yr. old daughter playing on the deck and in the back yard--the sound might also attract them. Or, I dunno, maybe the water hose, water is scarce these days, and it is leaky.

not scared? They are awfully big and smart. What do they leave you? Is it a kind of gift exchange? That is rather human behaviour.

Hi my name is Sandy I live in Chilliwack BC. I am trained as a biologist and I spent my childhood in Africa. I had many pet monkeys so I know their behaviour quite well. I love animals and have good raport with them. Also I spent a lot of time hiking in my teens around here so am comfortable in the bush and in our local mountains.
I've never had a sighting though it is possible my daughter did this summer.
I think sasquatch are a hominid, not a great ape like Giganto. This is based on the fact the footprints are so humanlike, also because of behaviour such as you describe. Animals don't exchange gifts, try to speak, make and use fire or clothing.
I think it also takes intelligence for a large, non-hibernating creature to survive in such a huge range of habitats--as far north as Alaska, the Yukon and NWT, Siberia, and high mountains; deserts, also islands in the east. Kinda reminds me of that other wide-ranging hominid, Homo sapiens sapiens.
Consider what humans would be like if they had not accumulated all the culture that we have--we'd be much like them, eating carrion, hunting occasionally, not usually using fire and depending on what we could forage. We must have been like that for quite a while.
