Okanagon connector HWY 97c... sighting

On friday June the 3rd 2016 early in the morning my son and i were heading up to Kelowna from the lower mainland  for a sports tournament we had left our home about 3:00 am and had been driving for about 3.5 hrs we were travelling on the Okanagon connector hwy 97c we were about 1 hour away from kelowna city the time was approximately 6:45am it was a clear sunny morning and felt quite warm as the temperature would reach 36 degrees celcius later on that day.

While driving i observed a fence on the right hand side running along side the highway, as we were driving i scanned further up to watch for deer and other wild life i was approaching a small over pass when i observed what i thought to be a person walking along side the fence at first that's what i thought it to be a tall person wearing a brown jacket and a cow boy hat with very large gum boots, i could only see the back i could not see the hands i thought it may be a construction worker pushing a wheel barrow or carrying something as my vehicle approached closer to the person i noticed the size of the boots being worn on this individual i myself wear a size 13 and notice this person must have been wearing a size 22...also what i thought was a wide cowboy hat ...as my vehicle went over the small over pass the person went out of sight as i got to the end of the over pass i slammed on the brakes pulled over and got out, now at this point i had viewed the person for a good 15 seconds my mind was trying to make sense of what i had just seen this was no way a person, that hat was actually a very large wide head that coat was fur those gum boots were actually extremely large calf muscles and it had very large wide feet at this point my brain had solved the mystery of what i had seen and had told me to pull over grab my phone and snap a picture...when i got out of my vehicle and looked back it was gone (possibly hiding under the over pass)  there was a little trail leading down to the under pass.., i realized i had to make a decision now whether to pursue the creature and abandon my 10 year old boy on the side of the highway sitting in my truck or drive away...the risk was too great and not worth it so i abandon the search.

Would it be OK for someone to reach out to you in order to gather a little more info for records sake, such as the exact location and so on? To whatever extend that you feel comfortable with.

Hi traildog, holy crap! That's more than a stone's throw away from my place (well, not really but you hopefully will get what I mean...)
The fact that what you observed appeared to have had a large calf muscle and wide head indicates to me that if this was a man, then the proportions are VERY unusual for a human (to my knowledge, at least). I'm almost ready for field-work so any of you coming down to investigate this? Don't know if my Dad would take me but I could put this under consideration.

I just was cruising the Sasquatch Canada website and here's this little gem of an encounter taking place outside Kelowna:

Kelowna BC
This encounter I had took place nearly twenty years ago.
I was with a girlfriend taking a drive down McCulloch Lake Rd.
She wanted to show me where a group of them were camping the weekend before.
It was around 10:30 or 11 pm when we arrived at a small turn off located next to a small creek.
The moon was very bright that night so we decided to get out of the car. At the end of the "parking lot" was an overgrown road that seemed to go straight along the creek for awhile ( maybe a couple hundred feet).
We started walking down the road. We were talking and whatnot and looking down at the path when out of the blue, in front of us maybe 5' there was a HUGE figure. At first glance I thought it was a dead person hanging from a tree possibly. I looked down at the ground and noticed it was all the way standing on the ground. We were so close that it's silhouette had blocked out most of the moon.
I could clearly see brown shaggy hair and it size. I am 6'2 and it towered above me. I can reach 8' with my arm fully extended so I figured it would be in the range for height.
One thing I hear people say is that they notice a very pungent smell. I did not. No smell, no movement and no noise.
We'll at that point we both had realized we saw something very large and unexplainable. We turned and ran back to my car. I was parked approximately 110 ft from there with my car pointing straight down the path. I turned my head lights on to see what we had just seen but nothing was there.
The next day I drove back to see if it were possible that a large cedar was blocking the path but there wasn't any trees on the path of that size. Only small alders mostly lined the creek side.
I didn't tell anyone of this story for years and years for the sake of embarrassment and ridicule. I haven't been in contact with that girl for probably 19 years either."
