Hi,I live in Edmonton alberta, and on April 14/06 I had seen something that has changed my opinions alot.I was traveling on hwy 33 north a relativley small(2 lane)hwy that doesnt see alot of traffic.I travel this road several times a year to get to our lake lot at shaws point on lesser slave lake.I routinley see alot of wildlife along this road and normally will not travel it at night because of the large amount of deer, and moose.Between ft.assiniboine and swan hills at around 915pm I had seen something enter my vision from the right side of the road up ahead at about 150-200 ft away,I initally thought i was seeing a moose or bear(because of the size and dark color)but very quickly realized I was seeing something walking on two feet and upright like a human,It was tall but not overly tall as explained by most people who claim to have seen them.I believe it was around the 6 ft tall mark and was rather gangely looking with longer arms than a human that had a definate sway to them as it walked. The animal was moving across the road from one end of the tree line to the other,in what I would call a very fast walk but not running. It seemed to not even notice that my car was coming toward it at high rate of speed(I didnt see it look towards me),The sighting didnt last long but long enough to have it kick in fast that I had seen a Bigfoot or what I now call Sasquatch.I was feeling very spooked by what I had just seen and when I got to the spot where it had just went into the woods on the left of me was not about to stop.I did have a camera with me in the trunk of my car but there would have been no time to get a picture in the situation given even if I had decided to try to get a pic.Upon coming back home a couple days later I travelled back through the area with eagle eyes and saw only deer mind you it was about 230pm,not the same time as before.I have travelled this area alot and never noticed anything like this.I did a little looking around on the net in the last few weeks and have learned alot about these animals,I also submitted a report to oregon bigfoot but only because it was one of the first sites i came across and they have never contacted me even after leaving my phone # and e-mail just 4 days after this all occured.I would like to learn more now and even go into areas were these animals are said to exsist.I would also like to know if these animals stay within the general area were they are seen???The area this sighting was made in is very remote and there is thick forest as far as the eye can see,I would like to explore this area more.If anyone is interested please feel free to ask any questions.

Very interesting. I would like to invite you to file a report at the WCSRO website, as we cover the province of Alberta. www.freewebs.com/casr/

Hi tuffyy,
I also live in Edmonton (29 yr old married male, no kids) and am really interested in meeting someone here in the city who is interested in scouting the areas in and around Edmonton. I am heading to Spring Lake (in-laws cottage) this weekend and will be scouting that area, especially since there seems to be some activity in that area as per 2004 footprints (W.C.S.R.O report) and a 2005 juvenile sasquatch sighting along hwy 16 and Stony Plain (B.F.R.O report). Really interested in meeting someone in my area to partner up with, I still will continue on my own but would feel safer with a partner. If interested please email me at forest_stealth@yahoo.ca, thanks. Maxim.

Tuffyy,
Thanks for sending the report into the website. It has been forwarded to all of the other Senior Investigators within the group.

Well the report has been handed off to the proper folks now and that makes me feel a bit better.I dont want any kind of recognition for this occurence just to let the right people maybe check out the area and see if they might run into something.I recentley was back to the area along with a friend during the early evening (800pm to 1130pm) and we did not see anything,we did hear movement and noises although these could have easily been animals such as deer and moose that are prolific in the area. One noise we did hear were long whistles (3 total) off in the distance coming from fairly deep in the bush and what sounded like a loud crash in the bushes off in the distance. It was very dark so what these were being made by is unknown.I have been doing alot of reading on these animals on various sites to ''educate'' myself and learn more about behavior, sounds, and places to look for tracks.I am far from brave enough to venture into the woods in this area so i will leave this to whoever wants to check it out.Bad enough my friend thinks I am becoming a nut job as does my fiancee. The sounds we did hear were worth a mention since I have read that whistles coming from the forest at night could well be made by these animals.

Hello tuffyy You say this occured on highway 43?? Did you mean highway#33? Thats the road I remember, and on my alberta maps it's highway 33 between Ft. Assiniboine and Swan Hills?? Or has this route been renamed since I left in 2002?

Still havent had any contact with any local researchers as of June 2.Maybe Its being considered a hoax or that I misidentified what I did see.I have been back up into the area a few times since as I have to travel the same route to get to shaws point and havent seen anything else other than deer and moose. It really doesnt bother me to know that no one has shown interest in this sighting as I am far from looking for any publicity or recognition.I am now a firm believer in these animals and my sighting will remain just that ''my sighting''.

tuffyy, you should contact Sean at the WCSRO Website as they are the main research organization in the province of Alberta now. I moved away to the west coast in 2002, so I haven't really gone after any reports on the eastern part of the Rockies since then. And with the price of gas now I doubt I will again in the near future. However Sean and the WCSRO took over where I left off. If you contact them I am sure they would contact you.

Well its now June 23 and I have pretty much given up that anyone from the local Research group is going to contact me,thats perfectly fine as the occurence as a whole has opened the door to me that we do have a unknown or as my bio buddy calls it a ''undescribed'' creature living in the forests of alberta.I have posted my e-mail on my contact information so if you want to contact me just click my name on my posts and we can talk and hopefully share more information about these animals. As for me I have caught the squatchbug and will be trying to learn as much as I can over the next while.I have learned alot over the past 2 1/2 months and have a good idea on locations to look, what to look/listen for etc.I would say I am far from a expert but will still be ''hitting the hills'' over the next while as I am sure the area I spotted my animal in is still hiding secrets.I have managed to make a contact from a group in the U.S who was very intrested in my sighting and wants to keep in contact,he has also given me some good tips on areas to look and listen for possible squatch activity.I will likely never see another one of these creatures again, but believe me the pleasure was all mine...

Tuffyy, you have my apologies.
We are really busy right now, most of it being things that have to do with work and home life. Our Lead (manager) at work walked out, so the workload has doubled for all of us.
I try my best to get in touch when I can, but real life has a way of stepping in front of Sasquatch Research & others hobbies all too often.

After reading the info on this forum, I have decided to take a trip to the swan hill area today. I would be very interested joining others for a nocturnal expedition at a later date. I live in the Edmonton area and have transport.
