I'm not interested in people knowing who I am or what I do, so no point in promoting anything.
Wide open spaces means that sound is not dampened pre maturely, but keep in mind that the db of a sound diminishes per foot traveled. So inherently it fades at different rates depending on the temperature, the pressure, and the humidity. Sound travels very well across water. Sound travels well down high canyon walls and down carved valleys.
If you can find a place to contour and trap the sound and move it along, it will go a long ways. Some sounds in nature are mistaken for infra sound when it's really just the trapped bottom end of airplane noise that you didn't hear otherwise.
There's no lack of videos with people whooping it up like a buncha drunk red-necks, not my bag. That's what the BFRO and Finding Bigfoot folks are for.
I really don't know how many cameras I have now, about a dozen trail cams or so, and maybe 24+ GoPro and that style cameras, plus several Auto Cams with GPS, full spectrum cams. Enough I think.
Imagine this - you spend 8 days x 24 hrs x 20 cameras +\- . . . when will you review all that footage?

Well, the whole point of this field is not to promote anything.....it's about searching for the truth and gathering more evidence, not a popularity contest. I, too, find the whole whooping thing to be silly and to me, its embarrassing just to listen. Very interesting knowledge about sound...... The time you'll probably get to review all that footage will be spaced out quite considerably.

The actors on finding biggyfoot are effectively spooking Bigfoot when they knock on the trees or do those annoying Tarzan calls they pride themselves on. Fail , but I give them a few points for caring enough to try. They are doing more then most of so it is what it is.
Its no wonder they never get close to one.. Factoid , humans by nature knock on trees with clubs / a piece of wood to scare off bears wolves cougars and probably other people. As a warning shot of types,
I was at a remote campsite that had a pest bear nearby. I met some of the campers who warned me that they and their Dogs had been chasing a young bear out of camp for the last 3 days and that I should keep an eye out.
A couple hours later the bugger showed up walking toward our camp , I was in the forest alone when I seen him and by nature ( I am thinking ) I picked up a club like branch and beat on a large tree forcefully which caused the bear to nearly jumped out of its skin and tore off like I had just shot a gun.
Which makes me think any wood knocking we hear will be *warning knocks* and not a Bigfoot wanting to text , imo.

There's lots of opinions regarding tree breaks on here what do you all believe about wood knocking do you think it's a sure sign of the presence of bigfoot?

If you would ask me 10 years ago, I would say "Yes, loud wood knocks and rocks clacks might be bigfoot" but in the past 5 years and increasingly, I would say NO, it's those gd bigfoot hunters, time to go home".
I'm inclined to not even respond if I hear knocks. If I'm just going about my camp business and hear knocks I wouldn't do anything different at all. If I was hiking then it means my presence is blown and I still wouldn't do anything. *looks around inconspicuously and walks away quietly*
*Knock*Knock*

Back from looking
I went for a hike up some logging road switchbacks looking for a tree I came across 7 years ago but did not find it. I checked 4 switchbacks but due to forests of Salal bushes not to thoroughly. I am going to go back up and look again.
What got me about this snapped tree was that it was twist snapped looking the tree had splinters sticking out all around the snap like it exploded from the inside. There was not any signs of a lighting strike but it looked like lighting could of done it..it was that blown apart.
I hope to find it again and get some photos / video.
My Sony 20mp 35x zoom camera arrived so I had it with me. With its 720p Video it has 35x optical zoom and can be doubled to 70x with digital zoom. In Photo mode at 20mp it gives you a higher digital zoom range to up to 200x Although at 35x it has plenty of zoom to look within 1 mile and see detail.
my new squatch camera yuk yuk haha (true plus some).

That's interesting about the tree......I definitely say look into it more, even though it likely isn't a squatch. Matt MonkeyMaker, on the other hand: Sorry Monkeymaker......You can't "find" sasquatch/bigfoot because:

Hey Island - just be aware that using "digital zooming" does NOTHING to the image that you cannot achieve at home post production. In other words, you are far better to deactivate digital zoom feature, and rely on the optical - then use your computer if you must "zoom" in. The digital zoom algorithm is usually quite poor due to the need for very fast processing, and will distort the image further. Richard

I agree, I would rather shoot with RAW and use the post processing software on a PC to chose the values.

I look at this particular snapped tree as a abnormally , well to me it was , maybe others will recognize it.
Thank you for the zoom tips , I will be sure to keep it off when filming or taking pictures.
I am thinking I can use it the digital zoom as a spotting scope in the field. It has a crazy high digital zoom in some of the modes.
In photo mode it will have up 49x , the VGA video mode up too 280x zoom , now that can't be too clear ! The 720p mode has up to 70x d, all of them start with 35x optical zoom before the digital would kick in..
