Time: 2:04 am Date: Aug 20th 2005 Sat Place: Near the junction (west of) of Lougheed Hwy (7) and the road to Harrison Hotsprings.
Friday night (19th Aug 2005) My friends from northern BC came down for a visit. So, I suggested to go to Harrison Hotsprings for the weekend to chill out. Anyway, we drove down Hwy 7 late in the evening. We stopped at the Crossroad Inn just before the junction around midnight. We decided to stay there because we weren't sure if any hotel will be opened in Harrsion Hotsprings at the time. We were staying in a second floored-room facing north. The room was hot, we have to open all the windows. We were still talking around 2:00am, and at 2:04am, we heard a strange sound. It started off as vehicle exhaust noise-like sound from a distance but ended in a howl, lasted about 10 seconds. The sound came from the north (in the mountains). The tone sounded from lower to higher. We all agreed that the sound was freaky and we might have actually only heard the echo of the actual sound. It sounded like the Payullup's (?). My recording equipments were in my bags. So, I took my parabolic dish mic out and sat by the window all night (till 5:00 am). No more sound heard! We were on a boat cruise on Sat on Harrsion Hotsprings. I noticed the surroundings; the sound could have come from the ridges just above the Harrison River. Cheers, Sebastian

It just may be a jaunt out to the woods that brings home the truth. Let's just not see you on Coast-To- Coast...eh.

It sounded like the Payullup's (?). Yeah, the Puyallup recording. We have heard the same type of vocalizations out here too.

I like I told you on the phone there have been reports of strange animal Crays in this area over the years? Deroche this year so far nothing? Unlike the last 5 years. where you were last Saturday night seems to suggest that out night crier may be back. Thomas Steenburg

Yes, Thomas, You and me both know that vocalisation is probably the "weakest link" to the question of existence of sasquatch. But let's us hope that there will be more sound heard by Fall. By the way, where I heard the sound is a lot closer to Harrsion Hotsprings/Agassiz than Deroche. I hope that was not the sound emitted by Bill Miller after looking at his photos of birds! "AHHHHHHH! Gee, boy! Not those damn birds again, no wonder there was no footprint." cheers, seb

I talked to my friends again. I played them the sound recorded by Chehalis. Their comment was " Yikes! That's the same sound!" I have feeling now that the sound may came from closer to the road. May be the noisey passing truck spooked it.
cheers, seb

Seb...now in hindsight...was the noise you heard reminiscent of the Chehalis Sound?

The sound that I heard was similar (but not exactly the same) to the Chehalis sound. It was only a single howl. May be a passing-by truck spooked a roadside coyote.
