Hi all, Watched a two hour special on Animal Planet over the weekend called, Russian Yeti. In case this is the wrong forum, please move as needed. I googled the Russian name for this creature "menk" and came up with this article about the program I watched, printed in Huffington Post in May of this year. Very interesting and makes for lots of questions. www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/05/29/russian-yeti_n_5411705.htmlHope it is of some interest to members - my normally non interested wife enjoyed it. Cheers mariner

Given the government of Russia at the time, I believe that the military and/or KGB were responsible for both the deaths and cover up Thanks for the link

Hi Mariner, I watched the program a couple of time, and while a lot of the supposed facts are compelling, the hype and embellishment of this program (and shaky camera reenactments) was difficult to bear.
The testimony of the villagers on the Menk seem legit, the original negative of the Menk seems legit, the unique damage to the bodies of the hikers and how they fled their campsite seems legit and so on and so on.
I would have preferred watching the program had Bill Kurtis narrated in his Investigative Reports \ Cold Case style. Instead this felt a lot like the Mermaid: The Body Found program.
Thanks for posting, I would say the program has some merit.
