There are really two options here ...
One is that Survivor-man's research team failed him or they found out about Standing's reputation as a hoaxer and they didn't care (and maybe never told Survivor-man that information). Either way, having someone like Standing on his show makes me wonder how many other things that program has shown us involved hoaxing as well.

I would think his research team didn't do its work. I have spoken with Stroud on a few occasions and always found him to be a very intelligent man. I hope for his sake, that it wasn't him ... Either way someone didn't bother to use Google! Jason, I will do my best NOT to watch it ... I'll just pester you for details R

If you listen to the interview that Les did on the Joe Rogen show it is obvious that Les is not a BF researcher and when he talked about Todd it seemed clear to me that he was unaware of Todd's reputation

It will be interesting to see how far into the show before Stroud starts figuring Standing out. It should happen when he first sees the ridiculous make-up job on the David Bowie 'Cats' version of Sasquatch Standing has and if not then, then certainly when he sees the Shemp Howard version I have recently seen. And the view from up close and looking upward at the alleged Sasquatch face is a real hoot. I guess that Sasquatch was both deaf and blind not to have noticed Standing at its feet. (sigh~) I find it hard to believe Stroud's team never watched Standing on the Finding Bigfoot Show. I thought it was really lame when Standing told the research team that he couldn't take the group to the location where the Sentry was filmed because there are mountain lions and such thus making it too dangerous for everyone. Let's see .... Standing can go alone and feel safe, but not if the research team goes with him. (hmmmmm???) Ain't buying that one any more than I did when he said he only took a few seconds of film of the so-called 'Sentry' footage because no one believes what they see on film, so why bother shooting more than 3 seconds of a Sasquatch. Sure would hate to think I missed filming a Sasquatch throw a large heavy boulder or let out a bone-chilling scream because I turned the camera off after three seconds of filming the subject.

(sigh~) Bill This is part of the problem as we all know, by and large the serious researchers go about their task with little to no funding and obscurity Last week I was in Cleveland for training The one evening during dinner I was talking to a guy from Tennessee, we were talking about guns, hunting, camping ect. Somehow we got onto bigfoot and I mentioned that I was an amateur researcher I then had to explain for the next 15 to 20 minutes that what he saw on tv, was not what we do Now personally I don't give a rats behind about what someone thinks of my hobbies or me for that matter, however it does get tiring at times educating people about the reality One of the reasons that I respect guys like John Green, Thomas Steenburg and you (even though I don't agree with many of your theories)is that educating people on the subject seems to be a passion Shows like Finding Bigfoot and guys like Standing do a disservice to our community imho I do hope that a guy like Les Stroud that has a large mainstream fanbase doesn't fall into the staged/hoaxes crap

I won't give a synopsis, because you either watched it, and will be able to discuss it -- or you didn't. The only thing I found compelling was the disappearance of a bunch of apples at a bait station. The "return whoops" can be explained away as female Great Grey Owls. The "wood knocks" can be explained away as a widow-maker branch or dead tree falling, due to some bear , moose, or deer brushing past it. Nothing was seen, and no attempts were made to move toward, or identify the source of the noise. The old "stick structures" could have -- and likely were -- constructed by Todd Standing years ago, giving them an aged appearance. In effect, Survivorman walked in to Liarman's center ring under the big-top. I find it funny that here in southwestern BC, THE hotspot for sightings, we have a definite shortage of these amazing, unexplainable stick structures. We have lots of explainable ones -- but none of those para-abnormal stick structures found all over the BFRO website. Unfortunately, Todd Standing has put himself in the same league as Brisson, Freeman, Smeja and Wallace. His credibility is non-existent. Therefore he is unable to present anything less than incontrovertible evidence. And in this case, that means a body. One thing I have been sitting here reflecting on for the past couple minutes, as I type this... Todd seems like a very likeable person. If I met him, I think I would genuinely like the guy. And for what it's worth, if it isn't one of our group (yes, Captain Morgan you are one of us) that proves the existence of sasquatch, I hope it is him. I hope he trips over a body out in the bush -- or accidentally runs one over with his bush buggy, because of all the hoaxers, he is the nicest. PS: Looking forward to the next episode because as Bill M. and Bill R. would say: "Things are getting squatchy!"

Steenburg says Freeman was a heck of a nice guy, yet he was a hoaxer.

It looks to me like Stroud is, unfortunately, buying into it, stick structures, wood knocks, whoops, and all. Whether it's for real to him, or for dramatic effect, I find him coming off as gullible to suggestions from Todd. I guess I'll have to see part 2 to find out out who's stringing along who here. BTW, I like the shots of the old Argo 6x6, as I have many fond memories, and a few hates, for the 1 I used to have.

Rather than being gullible, it appears to me that STROUD is just confounded by the suggestions being presented by STANDING. I don't detect any overt drama like you would see in a pee-drinking Bear GRYLLS production. So far, I think STROUD has maintained his credibility.
