mkultrah you said: Who knows if they do or do not? Precisely, my friend. Nobody verifiable does know. Instead of wasting time wood knocking, look for DNA or remains. Having a sighting is great, but collecting evidence is of far greater value.Because humans can wood knock and mess around with your mind by doing so, it's a fruitless exercise. Most times people happen upon sasquatch by accidental stealth not by alerting the whole bloody forest that you are present. I wish people would cut this nonsense out.

You still can't rule it out. Some people report wood knocks just before a sighting. Or hearing multiple wood knocks from different locations (comunication?) Just prior to an encounter. So like i said before, if you are in a remote loaction and the chances of it being people is very slim there could be something to it. Although you must follow it up with an investigation looking for more evidence such as tracks, hair sample dna etc. Primates and humans are very curious animals so you cant say that making yourself known is the wrong idea. Maybe going to the same spot over and over where you think may hold some bigfoot, make yourself known and show no threat is they way to go. Its worked with gorrillas and chimps. You can't claim definitive proof from a wood knock, but i think every possibility is worth exploring.

I would not be too quick to rule out anything when it comes to sasquatch since we don't really know much of anything about their behavior. No one is saying to rule it out. What we are repeatedly saying is: Unless you see what is making or causing the sound -- it is an unknown sound. However, seeing as other primates, including humans, do wood knock we shouold keep an open mind about it. Especially if it's in a very remote location, late at night and with responses that are to regular to be random trees popping. Just my thoughts. No one around here is close-minded. On the contrary, I think it is close-minded to be in a remote location, late at night, beating trees with a Louisville Slugger, and hearing a noise resembling a "wood knock" -- and deduce that a sasquatch is trying to communicate. It's okay to have a theory, but it needs to be proven. Sasquatch enthusiasts are short on facts; short on science -- but big on exaggeration, fantasy and theory.

I agree with what your saying. But some people on here do sound close minded when it comes to wood knocks. Obviously if you hear a wood knock that could be precieved as a response you cant claim it a sasquatch. I just think its closed minded not to try anything you think might work to drawn them out. It just seems dumb to rule them out completely especailly with all the claims. Besides people, wood peckers and trees popping what else could it be. Its in kind of the same relm as rock throwing, nothing else has hands. These are all just theories, and all facts where theories before they were proven. My whole point is you cant rule it out either way without follow up investigation, so if you like wood knocking, knock away, and people shouldn't "knock" you for it. lol

Nah! Just the opposite! Since we really don't know much of anything about their behaviour it is imperative that we do not slap just any king of behaviour on their daily activities. How would you sift through the evidence of something which might be possible with those things, with those that are proven possible? Caution on the side or error... instead of making presumptions..assumptions. It will bite you in the ass every time!

I just wonder how many wood knocks that have been reported were actually caused by buck/bull rattling
