My friend and his daughter went for a walk into the Minakatta Park Area last Friday. (the trails off of Quarry Road). After hiking for about 40 mins they Stopped for a rest. it was shortly after that that they heard 3 loud and distinct wood knocks off towards the marsh. I tend to believe and trust that my friend thet he didnt hear a woodpecker or a branch falling. (a longtime hunter and outdoors man).
The area that it came was, was OFF trail and there was no way to get over there. there was a older couple they passed walking out of the area back to there car but other then that there was no one else around.
Well after dinner that night we when for a walk out there. the two of us hiked up the trail did some woodknocks and i even did my first bigfoot call. (sounded pretty good lol) with no luck we sat around for about 30 mins in the dark and walked back slow with no luck:(
dont know what it was but it was fun to get out and try to see for myself.
has there ever been any sounds tracks or anything up in that area?

To my knowledge there is no indisputable proof that sasquatch do use wood knocks. Has there ever been a sighting by a reputable person, where sasquatch was observed exhibiting that behavior?
I believe that "wood knock" reports have only become popular following the public release of the disputed "Sierra Sounds" recordings by Alan Berry and Ron Morehead.
Respectfully,
Jason

Jason, I agree - I think it all started after some BF reseracher noticed that higher primates did so as well. Now, there are several interesting factors that would indicate that something knocks in the woods - but as always human interaction cannot be ruled out. Richard

I would like to read that report (or hear more about it) if you can remember where you saw it Robert. Even then, do unexplained "wood knocks" mean the presence of sasquatch? No.

Unexplained sounds can be dead trees popping as they warm up, or partially fallen trees rubbing and popping against others with a slight wind. Seems to me there's an awful lot of loud 1 2 or 3 knocks in quick succession in the woods all hours of the day and night that can't be explained by bionic woodpeckers.

Various indian tribes have a long history of reports of Sasquatch wood knocking. Even before the event of the white man. However, do I believe in such happenings? Not really. There is no modern day verifiable proof of such traits in any animal from North America.

Noises in the woods are only noises in the woods unless you see whats making them.

Growing up in the forest of the mid-west U.S., us kids would take a stick and hit it against a tree so who ever we were with, but at the time separated from, would know our location and most always I'd get a signal back. That is how I view 'wood-knock' stories as I do not know anyone who ever saw a Sasquatch actually doing them.
I truly believe what often happens is someone tries a wood-knock and somewhere else in the distance ... someone heard it and returned the knock. Then what happens is the next day we find posted on a Sasquatch forum where someone thinks they were communicating with a Sasquatch the night before. (sigh)

I've been saying the same thing about the BF community whether it be howls or knocks. I think there are far more BF researchers out impersonating BF than there are actual BF alive on the planet. This is another examples where we reiterate what you and Tom say all along, unless you see it with your own eyes you can't prove anything.

I would not be too quick to rule out anything when it comes to sasquatch since we don't really know much of anything about their behavior. I'm not saying that all "wood knocks" are sasquatch but who knows if they do or not. I agree if you are in an area with many people, especially a hot spot for squatchers you have rule it out as possible people responding. However, seeing as other primates, including humans, do wood knock we shouold keep an open mind about it. Especially if it's in a very remote location, late at night and with responses that are to regular to be random trees popping. Just my thoughts.
