Well, it looks like the fleeting moment of re-validation notorious hoaxer D1ck Dyer enjoyed, when Facebook Find Bigfoot (FBFB) ranked his "Camper Video" as the '# 2 piece of footage of all time', has gone straight to his head. Unable to control his hoaxer urges through the holiday, we are led today to this story from Dyers own Bigfoottracker.com, republished for the masses by the ever-compliant Jack Barnes and Jeff Anderson (FBFB) Read the Story Here(sorry if this is or was a dead link. they keep moving the page) Not to be outdone by Justin Smeja's recent claim to have wounded a Bigfoot, Dyer is supposed to have snapped off a fatal headshot after stumbling out of his tent in only his underwear. The offhanded murder was reportedly caught on tape by a UK 'documentary' crew who awoke moments before to find the offending Bigfoot rummaging through the scraps of a nearby bait station. (source: Robert Lindsay) True to 'Freezerboy' form, we now have another Bigfoot Carcass 'On Ice' at another as-of-yet undisclosed location, being studied by 'top scientists'. The release of the body is scheduled for April 2013, to coincide with the premier of the documentary. For those of you who may have forgotten, remember Dyer's last Shenanigan? Side note: The profanity filter removed the name "Dic k", which I think is excessive. Is this really a children's forum?

It would be nice if it were true. After the Georgia Hoax nonsense, I remarked to John Green that surely no one would be dumb enough to repeat that hoax having known what it did to the reputations of those involved in it. John replied, "Oh sure they will". Green is correct, but this time I hope he is wrong as I would like to see the matter settled once and for all in John's lifetime.

They keep talking about how "secure" the location of the Body is. My guess is that this is foreshadowing the 'body' being "stolen" or otherwise disappearing before the April release date.
On Discovery in general: Though I'd like to know for certain in my lifetime as well, I don't think it's in the best interests of the animal. Once exposed, every moron with gun is going to be wandering the woods looking for a trophy kill. Even if hunting them is 'outlawed' there will still be the old "self-defense" or "imminent threat" loophole, with the same sad results. We can assume from the infrequency with which they're seen that their breeding population must be very small and killing even one might jeopardize the long-term survivability of an entire clan.
Once "discovered" we'll end up trying to contain them to special 'reservations' for their own "safety" and some "entrepreneur" will pave their habitats with tourist hotels and gift shops, enticing more and more people travel to these remote locations. Confrontation will inevitably ensue, probably on some ill conceived "hike and Bike" trail, and I think we all know who will win that fight in the end.
Yes I would like to see a bigfoot, yes I would like to cast a print. Can I really say I want to see the mystery laid out on a slab with a gaping headwound? To that I say no, at least not that way. This is one point where I agree with Todd Standing, who argued that we had better establish a precedent for scientific study based on immersion and interaction, like Goodall, rather than hunting and caging them, which removes the wonder and awe, and promotes a sense fear and scorn.
Just another 2 cents from this neck of the woods.

Once exposed, every moron with gun is going to be wandering the woods looking for a trophy kill. People have been seeing them for hundreds of years .... some hunters hoping to shoot one. So if the story is true, then someone has succeeded once and that sounded like a fluke. Hardly think the Sasquatch has felt much pressure so far. If the story is false, then the Sasquatch is still alluding those pesky gun toting assassins with little difficulty.

All I have to say is, "show us the body or shut up" I will just say again as I have the last dozen times or so such claims where made.
Any time someone comes forward claiming they have definitive proof of the existence of the Sasquatch, but for some long drawn out reason that proof cannot be shown right now. Its BS!

Green is correct, but this time I hope he is wrong as I would like to see the matter settled once and for all in John's lifetime. So would I. John deserves to know that is was "solved" in his lifetime, although even if it isn't, he will always be remembered for the body of work he was given us all.
