And couple of days ago Les was on Joe Rogan's show and talked about doing a Survivorman searching for Bigfoot show He also talks about his two personal encounters with sasquatch If you listen to the 21 minute podcast be aware that they do use foul language in it I really enjoyed the podcast www.cryptomundo.com/bigfoot-report/survivorman-bigfoot-episode-upcoming/

Thanks for the link Bill. I listened to it and it was very interesting. Les is a very stand up guy. The part that really blew me away was when he said his plans included Todd Standing. I myself have not written Todd off as I have never seen any convicting evidence of him being a hoaxer. All I ever hear is hearsay and peoples opinions of him. I really look forward to seeing some of these episodes though. Nice to see Les is still out there.

Awesome find there Bill. Loved the interview.
As I talked about with you and Thomas, people are wanting something completely different than what "Finding Bigfoot" is offering.

Appearantly, not enough people. We had a production company put together a pilot episode for a BC based documentary which showcased actual victims of encounters with sasquatch. And filmed interviews with them on how it affected their lived then, and now. There was some real stirring and emotional stuf there! Not sensationalism. but a look into how such an event plays out on ones thoughts and how they see the world in a whole new light. Participants were myself, Thomas Steenburg. with John and Andrew from BCSCC! The pilot was very though provoken and well done. But the networks were flooded with "Finding Bigfoot" type shows! Sensationalism, as opposed to actual study on the people involved. Something that I was in total support of. The reason people do not report sightings. The reason people regret reporting sightings? The reason people still have nightmares 20 years later! The reasons why some people claim that it was the greatest day in their lives, and why others say it was the worst day in their lives. So, the reporter gets shunned because people would rather see others run around in the woods with night/ thermal vision, making jack asses of themselves. While the real story of what has been happening for hundreds of years, right up until today gets buried.

Sensationalism sells commercials.
I was thinking of producing a DVD.

I think it's great that Les is going to work with Todd Standing. Seems like a great fit to actually get some good footage and pics.

I think its a mistake for Stroud to work with Standing.
Standing is at the very least a huckster & at the very worst a blatant hoaxer. I went to see a couple of his original screenings of his footage. I wasn't impressed.
Then there is the almost scripted regularity in which he brings out new "footage" or pictures. The last one he released looked like one of the ape creatures from the Land of the Lost saturday morning t.v. series. It was laughable.
I just hope that Stroud isn't cashing in on the latest Bigfoot/Sasquatch craze that has been inspired by shows like Finding Bigfoot. This could ruin him.

Agreed. Standings "evidence" is not in good 'standing' with the majority of the BF community. Les produces an authentic, well grounded show that earned my respect years ago. He would be remiss to jeopardize that by any association with Standing. The idea of a Stroud Bigfoot show does sound a bit like bandwagoning, but this is where the ratings are and people are hungry for this kind of material. We had a production company put together a pilot episode for a BC based documentary Any chance we could see that?

Unless something has changed just recently Les is going to start a new Survivorman series ... so I doubt that he will have much to do with Standing.

In the interview Les said he has presented the concept to the network If you listen to the interview it is clear that Les is not an expert on sasquatch and he doesn't claim to be He said he talked to Standing and he thought he was a good guy

didn't stroud tell seb that he'd never, ever had an encounter? he's lying to someone.
and rogan is a paranoid stoner. i can't stand listening to his babbling, be it while commentating the fights or his ridiculous podcasts.
with stroud, he never actually "saw" anything did he?

He told that to me in an email from 2005. He said the only unexplained thing that ever happened to him was hearing some strange vocalizations one night along a place known as Moon River. Other than that, he claimed that he had never experienced anything unexplained.

The encounter in Alaska happened in 2007 lesstroud.ca/fieldjournal/survivorman-alaska bigfoot-lives.com » Blog Archive » Did survivorman Les Stroud encounter a Bigfoot? says: September 13, 2008 at 6:42 am [...] I was reading through his blog when I came across a tantalising snippet of information that leads me to think that our intrepid hero may have heard a bigfoot. He had just completed a days filming for his show. As per usual he was sleeping out in the wild. The entry was posted July 23rd, 2007 under Les’ Journals from the Field. He writes… “The strangest thing happened tonight when I was making my grass matt. All of a sudden a deep and very loud grunting noise from about fifty yards away in the bush brought me to my feet and put the hairs up on the back of my neck. It repeated four times and I have to say sounded…..wait for it….just like a large gorilla! No, I’m not kidding. Hopefully I’m not losing it! But I swear. That’s what it sounded like. Not like a bear at all. Like a big gorilla. I will assume it was a bear though – a mother warning her cubs about my presence. But still…..it will be an interesting sleep tonight!” The original link to Les’ online journal can be found here. The section of interest is Day5, late evening. [...]
