Just wanted to remind all members that bear feeding season is upon us. I have come across a few rather annoyed bruins in the last week just 15min from the burbs. So please be careful as many bears are starting to come down to rivers for fish and you don't want to annoy them at the best of times. Be safe out there! Richard

We have quite a few bears in our area too! Good thing our dogs are doing a great job keeping them away. We picked up another pup last weekend. She is a great Pyrenees X great Dane. A sweet pup with a big bark.

Oh yeah, clean up your fruit trees and keep garbage cans indoor.

Next week heading up to Pink Mountain Hoping to find at least one male bear and a moose i just drove through there a couple days ago. i've been in the yukon for a spell. i saw a huge moose come in on a trailer while i was gassing up at wonowon. never saw many bears on my whole trip, which was unusual. good luck on your hunt.

@ RichardT, I still using iPhone, can't upload pics from phone yet. There are pics on my Facebook. You can friend me there as Sebastian Wang. She is about 40 to 50 lbs about the size of a lab. But she is nowhere near my Irish wolfhound which about the size of a lion.

Yesterday, we drove from Quesnel to Barkerville and saw bears on three occasions - two were single bear sightings, the other was a female with triplet cubs feeding long the roadside ditch. You can be rest assured that in less populated areas, there will be lots of bears around.
Thx

Thx it doesn't get less-populated than the alaska highway. obviously more berry-laden areas should present better sighting possibilities. same as being around spawning waters. i saw few bears and even fewer sasquatch.

Bears are smart and they remember exactly where to go in the season. Rarely, you will see a same bear at a same location more than a few days. Bakerville highway and Alaskan Highway are great bear viewing highway, but I have to say Highway 20 to Bella Coola, at this time, you will see some great grizzlies along the road!
RichardT, here is a video of my dogs, Tiber the wolfhound and Draco, the Pyredane:
cheers, seb

I have a friend who spotted a griz last year on the West side of Chilliwack Lake. So heads up everyone who hangs out over there.

Vilnoori, how are you? More and more grizzlies have been sighted in the past few years in southern BC. I think their range is expanding again.
