Nice .. keep in mind with the difference in soil moisture content you are likely to get a different depth impression - the dryer the less you'll get. So please take that into consideration.
While you're there look for any other tracks - who know you may get lucky twice!
Cheers Richard

thought of that. it's been getting rain still. it rained there the last couple days. today and the weekend are going to be warm though. but that also means that that creek is rising rapidly with more snow-melt. so, even though it's getting a couple dry days, that ground anywhere near the creek is getting wetter and wetter.
even so, i'll do a test and see what happens. i'll walk a wider perimeter around that area and see if there is anything. taking my bearspray though, there are lots of bears in that area.

well, i just got back from my fishing trip.
boated up to that creek again, and the place wasn't even recognizeable. at least the area as it was before. that entire area is now submerged.
beached the boat, or, more like went ashore, as there is no beach anymore. i tried to do a walk up along the creek. but the original banks aren't there, and the immediate area was too difficult to walk into. i was wearing shorts and there were willowy-type bush with thorns that was too painful to go through.
so much for those prints. they'll be completely wiped clean by now. i'll still go in and walk the area once the water recedes. then, everything will be fresh again.
