Not sure which section to put this question in ... so here goes:
- What do you consider the best TV documentary or series on Bigfoot.
We have of course the new "Finding Bigfoot" - a bit too TV-cized for my liking, but OK. Monster Quest and a few "In Search Of" are the classics. Anything else you can suggest? I have a vast collection of them at home, but wouldn't mind adding some more ;D

I quite like him - most of the time I don't take him too seriously - but I think you need that in a host.
For example, I am getting a bit annoying of Moneymaker on Binding Bigfoot - and we won't even mention Bobo .... Dear Lord - every hoot and sound in the woods is a "Squatch". First and foremost it is a "Sasquatch" - and no contrary to what Bobo may think, he is not "in tune" with them - otherwise he'd be able to get us a freek'n photo.
I know - I am on a rant ... the premise of the show has merit, but I know from personal experience that when filming such shows, one has to make each episode entertaining ... and we all know that when one goes out in the forest, more often than not (99.9% of the time) one only catches a cold, and no sign of any big hairy primate ... I do however enjoy listening to the opinion of Cliff and Ranae (sp?) - they are quite level headed and play a more plausible and much needed counter balance to the other two's leaps of folly.
OK stepping of my soapbox now :-)
Richard.

i prefer fact or faked. they take the proper approach to everything. instead of just sensationalizing stories, they should be first scrutinized and try to take away any fake possibilities.
i hate monsterquest.
i enjoy destination truth. even though he totally does it up for t.v. he always ends by admitting that he found nothing. i think it's so funny that no matter what he's looking for or where it is, he always searches at night. just to add that mood for the t.v.
ever notice that ghost shows always film at night. just so it feels more spooky. what, are ghosts now supposedly sleeping during the day? and for some reason ghosts always speak english? even when they are in germany or the russia.

So if someone came along and wanted to make another film on the subject, what would you want to see in it? Doc or Drama or a bit of both or none at all?

I am not too sure about everyone else, but I am getting a bit sick of the "let's run around at night with green nigh vision gear and panic at the slightest sound of anything in the bush".
I'd be more interested in a documentary that addressed technical issues (gear etc) behind bigfoot research.
Of course re-creation and expert analysis is always a huge added bonus.

I will like to see comedy, like Scott Herriot's "Journey towards the Squatchdom".

Sebastian - must embellish some, as per the comedy aspect. Straight comedy or coming at you sideways? I can envision that to some degree.
So would it be crazy to say I want to tell a story along this narrative. Not necessarily the comedy ratio but stories of and , and what, I dunno. Nevertheless I posses experience of video production in British Columbia and very intrigued about this subject.
Personally I always liked 'SASQUATCH' from 1977 - sorta a docudrama while being a comedy at the same time. That format anyways. No one has ever put the Ostman or Bauman Stories unto film yet. (well, digital anyway). Yet what of all the First Nation Stories told to Burns. Certainly Peters' tale of the giant in pursuit would surely be exciting.

Have not looked at your link as of yet due to lack of hi-speed.
Funny or lame - lol. But that is what the seventies documentaries were about - but yet they are considered cult classics.
With all the recent development of digital equipment and some know how - Anything is possible. Professional quality but must be in-step with production values anyway.

It has to be In Search of... followed closely by the episodes of Unsolved Mysteries that were concerned with cryptozoology.

If Robert Stack doesn't convince an audience that a creature exists, no one can I like Josh Gates \ Destination Truth and their approach, they're real road warriors. Plus I really like Jael De Pardo Did anyone see the DT episode where they went to Siberia and found tracks?

The two best sasquatch documentaries ever made were Bigfoot's Reflection starring half the people on this forum and Sasquatch Odyssey featuring Green, Dahinde, Krantz and Byrne. Nothing tops these too - remotely.
