Last summer August 2010 my family went camping at Deer Lake located in Sasquatch Provincial Park. I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the washroom. I grabbed my hubby to come with me and he was holding the flashlight. On our way to the outhouse I heard some rustling in the bushes beside me and I jumped and whispered to my hubby that I heard something. Just thinking it was a wild animal of some sort not to worried at this point. As we turned the corner to the outhouse I looked back and could see a dark figure that was standing upright with black hair. I was so scaird I couldnt say anything. I just kept walking and asking myself in my head if I really saw what I did as it was dark and in the middle of the night. The next morning I mentioned it to my husband who by surprise took me seriously. I also remember that night I heard this weird noise over and over again. It almost sounded like a loon call but more "uglier". Today (July 17, 2011) we have just came back from a camping trip at Hicks Lake which is the other part of Sasquatch Provincial Park. It was in the middle of the night (last night) and we heard this weird call outside our tent and it was extremely loud and like something we have never heard before. This sound is similar to the oregeonbigfoot website estacada call. Not only did we hear it outside our tent calling about 3 times there was another animal answering it across the campground in the exact same manner. We came home and decided to look up animal sounds such as raccoons and owls but nothing came close to what we heard. Finally we looked up the sasquatch and there it was. That is the sound we heard. Not to mention there had been a reported sighting on the 15th of a bear in the area...maybe it was something else??? I would love to hear from anyone else that has been camping here if they heard this same noise??

Hi Mjess It's a interesting report during the busy camping season. Were there other campers near that heard these loon imitation calls also? Did you look for any tell tale signs of your night visitor like tracks or scat? No worries, it sounds like they named the park correctly

Indeed. However sometimes a witness would like to talk with someone face to face. I would like to interview her for one reason only. Details and more details. There is never enough information as there are always more questions. Of the 172 B.C. sighting investigations I have looked into since 1978 I don't considered any one of them as closed. Except of course those which turned out to be cases of mistaken Identity or outright hoax attempts. Now its totally up to the witness whether or not they wish to be interviewed. However investigations are never considered closed as far as I am concerned.

172, Tom is there an expedition thread in here somewhere from your exploits in the field? That would be really interesting to check out.
That region between Pitt and Stave Lake merits a closer look IMO. Have you gone off the grid in there? You know away from the witnesses, tourist and roads? just wondering.

The beauty about living here in Mission is that you can get to real rugged areas in no time flat. Lots of area to explore if you like

From Mission to Golden Ears is about a half hour if you drive slow. For me it's about ten minutes.

Deer Lake/Hicks Lake is hardly rugged. Interesting report mjess, hope you got some more from that area, Thomas. Worthwhile area to spend some time in if you are close to the area!
