Hey everyone, I'm new Bear with me here, Im doing this from my phone because I just moved and dont have the internet yet. WARNING: Typos.
Last Thursday, September 16, 2010, I believe I may have had a sasquatch encounter. My boyfriend and I had the day off work so we went to Stave Lake (Mission) to shoot his guns. We usually go on weekends, so seeing it on a Thursday afternoon was shocking (for those of you unfamiliar to the area it is full of ATVs, dirtbikes, people shooting and drinking) but on Thursday it was quiet. We went to a shooting spot that we have been to many times before. The last time we went, about a month ago, when pausing from shooting, we heard deep growling there, but shot the shotgun in that direction to scare off what we thought at the time to be a cougar.
After shooting a while on Thursday we put away the shot gun and were just playing with the 22. We were talking for a while when we heard a loud "TING" like a rock hitting metal. The direction it came from there was a large sheet of metal standing upright, which is strange because if something fell from one of the trees around it would have hit the top edge of the metal, not the side making a loud TING sound. I'm not ruling out that possibility though, I'm interested in what you all think? (Its hard to explain, does that even make sense) After that we stood staring at the woods for a while but heard nothing, we packed up to go though, I felt so scared.
I didnt think of it as a possible sasquatch encounter until we were in the car. I thought of the growl we heard last time and put the two together. That place is so noisy usually from people I assumed animals stayed out of the area. Its too bad we didnt investigate because we had an amazing video camera with us, and a good shotgun incase anything got dangerous... Im going to investigate all our videos of shooting that day for any figures in the background.
I never believed in sasquatch until about 2 years ago, when my grandfather mentioned his encounter when hunting once. Hes not the type of person to believe in paranormal things so I was very surprised (if you want to hear his story I can tell it too, but this post is long enough at the moment!) And after watching a few documentaries and Monster Quest episodes I did my own research. Im not sure if I believe of not, but i wouldnt be surprised if they do exist. Apes are intelligent, something more evolved, like the missing link between us and apes, could probably continue hiding from us in the woods until we tear all the trees down (its going to happen eventually, I go out to these places and everywhere is clear cut). I just wonder why we havent found any bones or bodies! We often go up to Chipmunk creek in Chilliwack to camp and shoot, and I always keep my eyes open, since its so peaceful and woodsy in some areas. I never ever expected it to happen at noisy, busy Stave Lake. Very surprising!
And thats my ENTIRE life story lol for those of you who read the whole thing, congrats! Your eyes must hurt
