I was contacted by Igor Burtsev earlier. I sent him a link to this thread. I hope he will understand what's going on for the past year. Here is the article:
"Brisson assured his Russian colleagues that it was a photo of the legendary Bigfoot, or Sasquatch. The popularity of the mythical creature has won it the honor to become a symbol and a mascot of Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Mr. Brisson’s photo may mean that the mascots ramble somewhere in the woods of the Olympic city.
The Canadian cryptozoologist said that he had seen a Sasquatch peeking out from behind a huge stub in the woods near Pitt Lake. The spot, where the creature was supposedly photographed, is quite far from sports objects.
Randy and his son Ray found big tracks on the snow along a hauling road. The footprints were quite big – it was obvious that they had been left by an adult creature. There were smaller footprints found nearby too.
The toes on the feet of both the adult and the youngster were pathologically angled to one side. The researcher claimed that the creatures were breeding since he had found the footprints of both a parent and a baby.
Mr. Brisson also said in his message to the Russian researchers that he and his son decided not to trace the couple because the creatures, when trying to escape, were throwing rocks at them.
The story may sound very strange, but Burtsev and Bayanov said that they had never exposed the Canadian of any falsifications in their studies of the unknown.

The "photo" location is no where near Pitt Lake. It's within spitting distance of the group campground in Golden Ears park.

I suppose this job was not too good. On video there is not the distance changing, but foreshortening: the cameraman is moving from the right to the left, just a little closing up. But the face is staying in the same position, not following cameraman, but looking at the same point. Probably S. is looking at Randy's son Ray as interested in him. Especially if S. is a youngster female ) And Ray could be standing in one place when Randy was filming in motion... And the face also is becoming a little bigger from beginning to the end of the clip, but as it is of very small size compearing with trees, it is hardli noticed, such enlarging...

I see you back stabbing cowards are still at it, You better talk to my face from now on instead of on here, enough of your lies and bullnuts, Everyone knows your trying to make me look like a hoaxer, so you can move into my areas, You guys no nothing about Sasquatch. I support you, Great Hiker. I read the same accusations here in Russia from those whose research is limited only with sitting in front of comp's screen... See my answer about S. pics - I evaluate them as real ones and prove it... I suppose you are the author. I want to contact you directly. My E-mail is in my profile.

First of all, there is no need to launch a personal attack on BFhunter, Hiker 11. Second: But I don't agree with some of your interpretations of Sasquatch associating with paranormal activities, emitting eye glows, and telepathy etc. As to the First - I support you, Seb. As to the second - let's alow researcher to explain his approach without limitation. No wonder if he occures right or not... So many things in this research are unexplained that we cannot reject even fantastic prepositions... You do like Artur Clark. Why don't you like such a more realistic idea than Clark's ones are? By the way, it reminded me one case when our very famous editor Vasiliy Zakharchenko was accused by our Communist State leaders for publishing Clark's novel in a youth magasin and he was expelled for that from the head of that magasine because of ideological reason... Don't be look like them!

This thread should have terminated a long time ago. We know the source of the Pravda article is a known hoaxer and as such we ought not to waste any more time on anything he says. Igor, there are many of us on this forum who are active in field research and we just don't sit in front of computers. In fact it was because several of the people on this forum were out in the field with the person making claims and caught him throwing rocks that we now know that anything this fellow claims is tainted by his actions. Is that a real sasquatch in the photo he has sent to Russia? The answer is nyet tovaritch (no comrade). Look at Bill Miller's excellent dissertation in this thread that shows that it is a manipulation. Enough of this nonsense already.

The papers made up that "Truth" (the translation of the paper's name) about the sourse. 2. I studied objectively those photos by myself, and I 've written here my conclusion (up). Believe me I have had a good experience studiing PG film about 30 years ago and have been proving its authentity. American researchers just a couple years ago came to the same conclusion. 3. As to throwing rocks I also aware of that case and know the reason why it was made, and I believe his suppoters in that. 4. I believe that RB is on the right way to make friendship with Ss, that is why he is acheaving such results. Those who HUNT so intellectual creatures which Ss are will not achive success.

Randy's initial story to the people that he told about it was that he was alone when this allegedly happened. He told us that he was bent over taking pictures of a possible footprint when he heard something hiss at him. He turned around and instantly took two photos, from the same position, before leaving the area. If he told you that his son was with him he lied. And telling us that he took two photos simultaneously was a lie also as the photos show that they were taken from two different positions.

I don't know exactly where it was... Igor BurtsevRandy is the one that keeps changing the locations of his "encounters". THe track photos of the adult and juvenile were taken in the UBC Malcolm Knapp Research Forest and he later changed that to west Stave Lake. The stump is in Golden Ears Park No where near Pitt Lake. And as the Pravda article stated that they don't understand why he didn't show the photo to Canadian media, this thread in itself can tell you the answer to that question. He did show it to people here and he was exposed a hoaxer. Now he's looking for another audience to show his fake photos to.

HI Igor!
Great to have you here! The problem with Brisson's claims is that he was unable to chronologically, geographically, and systematically documented his encounters. Right after his first interview about the 15 feet tall creature that he saw, he was telling me and Steenburg about a female creature. When Thomas asked him if he was claiming a second sighting, Brisson scrambled on without giving a definite answer. To me, this was a sign of dishonesty. Believe me, there was something new every week from him. Golden Ears park is a very popular provincial park here in a suburban setting. There are many people use this park daily. If the level of activities is as intense as Brisson described, there will be other people reporting as well.
As far as the photos go, there is no way for the head size remains the same while the focal distance changes. Furthermore, the stump has a very large diameter( Brisson posted some behind the stump pictures); the creature's face should be obscured by the leafy branches when standing behind the stump. It is very clearly that it was not the case. If the creature bended forward over the stump, one shall able to see its shoulders. Unless the creature has a 4 foot flexible neck, there is no way to have the face in front of the stump. For such reasons, I think that the photos are fake.
cheers, seb

Hi Igor,
I also like address your second comment about the connection between cryptozoology and paranormal study. First of all, cryptozoology is zoology, which is a scientific based study. Our method is based on a reductionist approach. Our ultimate goals in hominology are to prove the existence of unknown species in the superfamily of Hominoidea as reported. More importantly, we like to establish the taxonomic relations between "us" and "them". It is a comparative study, using ourselves as standard, to understand how these cryptids adapted to the environments, then to establish the ecological relationship. We will, then, have a better understanding of human evolution. Secondly, we work on classification. Based on all physical descriptions of these cryptids (I am being generalized here as I understand that there can be different types of unknown higher primates in Russia), we can safely narrow them down to the superfamily level. This is already a highly satisfactory level considering we do not have any physical remains. Nessie, Ogopogo, or Mokele mbembe, on the other hand, cannot even be determined as mammals, reptiles, or amphibians. Why shall we go back down the ladder and insert variables from other fields (such as paranormal study) to hominology? Linking one mystery to another is an ontological dead end. I am interested in many other mysterious subjects like UFOs, ghosts, and ESP etc. However, I see no reasonable argument that they are in any connection with cryptozoology espscially hominology.
I hope that I make this clear.
Cheers and thank you, Sebastian

Igor??? This isn't the Igor who bought into the Mary Green nonsense - is it? If so, then the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree in support of the asinine Brisson hoax.
The distance from the subject to the camera changed and yet the head of the subject remained the same size and on the same axis. This was just one of the things wrong with Brisson's failed hoax. However, it was that mistake that anyone with any common sense can understand ... well almost anyone! (sigh)
Maybe Igor can show the Brisson image to Mary Green who in turn can share it with her talking Sasquatch so to see if it recognizes one of its own. (double sigh)

Hi Sebastian, I could continue to discuss the pics, but you all don't want to accept my arguments: I've written once (up) that the head also is ENLARGING propotionally, but because of small cise compearing with trees you cannot notice it... As to other detailes which SEEM contradictory ones, I also could explain them... But the MAIN problem is: you DON'T TRUST him, and he DOESN'T TRUST you. That is why YOU FIND too much FAULT with him, and HE IS NOT too HONEST with you, concealing some important detailes of the encounters... As to the Pravda's info - it was not him, who initiated that publication, and they distorted many things in the report, having driven a bigger wedge between YOU and HIM, it's a pity... I wood like you to be more tolerant of him, and he could be more honest to you... Because he makes a good affair, I'm sure....
