My name is Dave, and I come from Korea. I live in Coquitlam BC, and I plan on living here all my life. My main interests are keeping and learning about reptiles, electronics, video games, movies, hanging out with my friends, and just plain enjoying life.
I first heard about Sasquatch back in Korea, when I was around 6 years old. My school teacher told our class about a creature in the mountains of North America standing nearly 7 feet tall, and sees us during our sleep.
I was always skeptical about such creature, until I came to Canada in the year 2000 and the age of eight. When I got here, oh man, the stories about the Sasquatch was everywhere. But that didn't change the way how I felt about Sasquatch, or any other creature like it. Now, I know a ton about animals. I have been studying animals all my life, as they were my main interest. I have been keeping animals since the age of 2, and studied their behaviour. When I heard about the Sasquatch, the first thing that came to my mind, was a Caveman and a gorilla. So I thought I had this figured out. But all that changed 3 years ago, during a annual school trip. Our school went to a camp area surrounded by trees, that was no surprise since we were in a mountain/ forest like area. I would say we were couple kilometers away from Chiliwak. While everybody went to asleep, I got up to go to washroom and for some fresh air (the washroom was a seperate building about 50 feet away from my cabin). As I was coming out of the washroom, I heard a very faint howling noise, almost like a low scream. At first, I thought it was a coyote, or some other animal. Then about 300 feet away from me, there was a figure standing just under a light. The creature was standing straight up, and was very hairly, it was too dark too see it's face, but it was very dark brown or black. I suspect it could've been around 6 feet to 7 feet tall. I was too far away and too dark to tell for sure. It was brief, but I got a look at it. The next thing I know, the creature was running on two feet. I never saw the creature again.
I'm not totally sure about this one, it could have been a encounter. But took place just last month. Me and my family were on a family trip, and my dad was far too busy driving, and both my mom and my brother were a sleep. So I was the only guy that I was really paying attention to outside. Again, we were in a forest. mountain area near Chilliwak. We were coming back to our home in Coquitlam from the US, and decided to take the long way just for fun. Anyways, as we were passing by, I saw a very strange tree stump, about 6 feet tall. It was so strange, it seemed to have shoulders, and long arms. I couldn't tell if it had legs or not, but it almost looked like a man. It was dark brown, and it seemed to be turning as if it was looking at our car going by. When I looked back, it wasn't there anymore, and the trees around where the tree stump stood were shaking as if something went passed it. It could've been the angle, and the wind. So I'm not sure about this one.
Anyways, the first encounter I would say was very scary. Being alone in the dark and seeing a man like creature standing nearly 7 feet tall covered in hair in middle of nowhere scared me. I'd say that made me a believer.
