OK, just to put that step length into perspective, I did a little experimentation of my own. I'm 5' 5" tall, and I measured my running step length to be 2.66 feet long. Converted to inches, that is a ratio of (st/ht) 32/65 inches, = 0.49, in other words my step length is slightly half the length of my height. So if that critter was running like I was, it would be just under 120 inches high, or about 10 feet tall. Quite the big squirrel, eh. Those are pretty small feet for a 10 fter, don't you think. But if the thing was actually walking, then it is even taller!

Hi Seb! The distance and cost are too prohibitive for what has been presented. Vilnoori phoned me the other day and wanted to know if we could join up with you. But I told her the same thing and she came to realize that she couldn't take that much time away from her kids anyway. That would be over a 2 hour drive there and 2 hours back. So take lots of pics!

Hi, I met up with Thomas Steenburg, and sebastian today, They came over to interview me, about my sighting last year, and the foot prints in the snow recently, It was interesting to meet these guys, they are very nice guys, and if anyone has a sighting or something to tell about, Dont keep it secret like I did for a year, dont worry about people thinking your nuts, but after meeting them today I should have said something sooner,I made a few mistakes in the interview, about the weight of the one I saw, I should have said about 6 or 7 hundred pounds or more, not 3 or 4 hundred pounds, I didnt want to talk to loud sometimes , dont want my son to hear something to scary, so he wont worry about going back into the bush, Not sure what they thought of me today, but It was a good time, and now Im not as worried about going back in those mountains, I learned alot today from them, thanks very much Thomas and sebastion. Randy

Hi Randy, Thank you very much for sharing your experience with us. I find your report very interesting because of your description of the subject's physical charateristics. As Thomas said, there were isolated reports of extremely tall creatures from a general area (Big Horn Dam) in a certain time period. Extremely tall creature has been reported once (See John Green's On the Track of the Sasquatch, what the prospectors saw) in the north end of Pitt Lake.
I think that we should start a new thread to discuss the sighting. Thanks again, Randy for reporting your sighting. You may have discover an area previously overlooked.
cheers, seb

That is a heck of a stride! If it is a jogger, I wonder where the impact splash or foot drag is? Does the gait seem narrow?
Whenever I see human prints in snow there is a drag from the heel. Someone mentioned that Bigfoot snow tracks usually don't have the trademark heel drag that the human gait naturally creates. Even in very shallow snow people make this drag. I noticed the absense of this drag in these photos.
I don't know if researchers have made comments on this interesting aspect of bigfoot snow tracks.

Hi Chris,
Welcome to WCSR.
You brought up a very valid point in your observation of heel drag (slide in or kick out) on the possible sasquatch footprints in the snow photographed by Hiker11.
I have read much the same statement from sasquatch sighting witnesses in the past. Here one mention from "What the Prospectors Saw" a 1965 report from north of Pitt Lake that was sent to John Green:
One thing described by witnesses that seems reasonably common about the possible footprints of a sasquatch that is covering ground in a hurry is the lack of straddle. Here's how Bobbie Short and John Bindernagel explained it to me years ago: There seems to be very little straddle to possible sasquatch tracks. It's almost like you could draw a line straight down the middle of the tracks and there would be little or no deviation from center.
A point that should be brought up about Hikker11's track find is that the gate at the entrance to Golden Ears Park was 'locked' for the season at the time. The vehicle tracks on the road were most probably made by park employees with gate keys, but not the general public. Also, if I remember correctly, Hiker11 said he believed the possible sasquatch tracks he found (coming out of the bush on the upper side, then traveling down the road for a short distance, and finally entering the bush again on the lower or Alouette Lake side of the road) were made during the later part of the night when the snow was still fresh. Shortly before dawn there was a typical temperature inversion which froze everything solid. I believe it was the earlier part of the morning when Hiker11 came across and filmed the possible sasquatch tracks.
The above-mentioned points about freezing temperatures and icy conditions on the road is why I ruled out the footprints being made by a running jogger.
Ever tried running full speed (stepping out five feet between footprints) on a slick and icy road?

Ken,
Great reply. Thanks for the information.
Actually I have recently tried adjusting my stride making prints in the last snow we had here a few weeks ago. It is very clear to me that imitating a bipedal animal with such a stride is far more difficult than just merely stretching for each step. Especially over any distance.
And of course I slipped and made foot drags. If there are fakers out there they are very good at it.
Chris.

Or on stilts in the fresh snow. Adventurous, but possible.
