If you had nothing to tie you down and plenty of time and money on hand, where along the West Coast would you concentrate all or most of your Sasquatch research efforts and why?

The Queen Charlote Islands..and further up the coast line as did Titmus. And where Alley wrote about a number of encounters
Water ways account for a lot. All creatures come down to the water! Smug aren't I?? ;D

Since British Columbia's rugged coastline stretches for more than 27,000 kilometres (16,780 miles) and includes thousands of islands and mountainous fjords, you and the Mugwhump better buy a big boat with BIG fuel tanks, pack lots of grub and fresh water because this ain't goin' to be no three-day cruise, Captian GC. ;D

Southern California Not many Sasquatches but the women are fine. Seriously I would take the advice of local people in the know. providing they are not wanting to keep me away from prime areas.

If you go by the history of reports really one location is as good as the next. Myself the Bella Coola region has allways interested me. Thomas steenburg

Bushman has pointed out that the lower Harrison Lake area, during Fall, is an excellent location for sasquatch research. I think that sometimes, one doesn't have to go out too far to look for the big guy. cheers, seb

Ofcourse the lazy answer for me would be closer to Princeton since I have cabin access already there. But seems to be a hotspot for prints, stories, and encounters.

It would be a toss up for me. Between BellaCoola/Bella Bella/Dean channel area AND the north end of pitt lake.

Like i have said her before the north end of Pitt lake has always peaked my interest. If not for the fact it has huge untouched old growth. It might also be for the lost gold of slumach or the many reported sightings of Bigfoot over the years Or the belief that the area is cursed. many a person has went missing in those hills. heres a cool read from a hiking thread Read the comments from gchicalo www.clubtread.com/sforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=14002&whichpage=4&SearchTerms=cedar%2Cspirit%2Cgrove

Ken,
Is there still an a frame cabin on the shore of Bute inlet just south of purcell point?I worked up that way in '97; doing heli-log.Last time I was there a note was posted on the cabin door saying "you may use this cabin,we just ask that you leave it in the condition that you found it in." Could make for an excellent base camp should anyone want to have an exp. in that region. If my memory serves me correct it sleeps 8 and that gravel beach provides some of the best fishing I've ever encountered in my life (Aug.-Sept.)Just don't tell anybody from DFO

chungasrevenge: I'll have to ask a local logger friend about the a-frame cabin just south of Purcell Point in Bute Inlet. If the cabin is still there, I'll be sure and let you know.
Jamesr: The northerly end of Pitt Lake used to be my old stomping grounds and in my opinion is certainly a good choice if you are looking for sasquatch. If you check out some of the old posts on this forum you might find some interesting info.
