Im a new member here from Montana just outside Yellowstone National Park where MANY siteing have occured.
I have many questions, ideas, or just plain observations I would like to share with the group.
Ive been interested in this subject for about 30 years now and am gathering information regarding a book about the sasquatch of the yellowstone ecosystem etc.
1# Does anyone any any information regarding any sitings that I may not be aware of in relation to the Yellowstone Sitings/ S. Montana, NW Wyoming etc?? I would like to contact the individuals who have posted their sitings on other sites such as BFRO. I have not contacted any yet.
#2 (observation) Im still amazed by the lack of any quality photos by anyone. With the age of high tech equipment, Im suprised members or organizations that are trying to gather information about BF seem to use the most archic method. I dont enough room to write everything I mean but I hope you will get the jist of the topic. Some sites show POOR quality photos of which maybe only a minute portion be of the "subject" . It is my hopes to educate some about "better" ways to capture images etc or to enhance peoples beliefs. For example. There is a photo in a new growth forest showing what could be the top few inches of the head of a BF. Thats fine but what really would help "us" as a group would be to take more than ONE photo but more importantly a photo of the subject 'NOT there" . If you take a picture of something, please wait to see if it moves or disappears etc. THEN take another photo showing that the object MOVED. That gives a photo more credibility especially when it is of poor quality to begin with. i.e from now on take photos after the subject has left...that way WE as viewers know it MOVED etc. Its that simple! Otherwise how do we know that the object is still NOT right where you photographed it 4 years ago etc. It will help with credibitly not only of the photo but with all future research.
#3 Not sure you know but Sony has a new HDV video camera with a infrared night view for taking photos AT NIGHT with NO light or little light. I think this is a good start for "us" to begin trying to capture pictures. Without good quality photos, I think it will continue to be a SLOW process of getting more recognition of BF being a real animal etc. (Observation) Im suprised by the lack of high tech some groups have when trying to research this. I know the equipment is expensive but I feel we are wasting a lot of enegy, $, time, effort by NOT having it. I think people in general are tired of the same ole evidense when we could be getting good video and possible even a specimen. I always read about BF visiting the same site day after day for weeks yet NO organization jumps on the fact that this would be the perfect opportunity to get good night video using motion detection. I think our focus would be to get this done...Just my thoughts.
#4 Comment on the Seirra Sound recordings. I notice in most of the recordings there is NO variation in the creatures sound as related to distance from the microphone etc. In other words , it seems odd the creature sounds as if it is right next to the mic. at all times when in fact it seems we would be able to hear it approach from 10-20 feet away by the sound becomming louder and louder...?? WE hear it from the men/hunters who recoreded it why not from the creature. (PS. Im not discrediting it as real, I just want the explanation answered) Also there is a few hair rasing sounds that I wonder if any of it has been looked into. Im refering to the more "human" like sounds that sound similar to an big Sumo Wrestler from Japan. I swear the creature is uttering "words" and they sound very asian. SInce BF possibly may have orginated in asia has anyone looked into seeing if they really are uttering some form of one of the asian languages?? Its possible? Linguist nowdays can trace origins of words in english back 2000+ years to the middle east. Its just seems like the 1st thing someone should have looked into.
#5 FYI, the first recorded BF was that by Magellen in his diary upon reaching the N. American Continent. He talks about it in his journals. There is no mention of this by ANY of BF organization that I know of...thought you would be interested. he talks about tall gaint hairy human beings roaming the beach when he and his ships arrived.
Well thats it for now. I sort of lost my train of thought having typed for awhile. Nice to be a member and look forward to us as a group discussing this matter.
