LOCATION: Ruby creek F.S.R. Lower Main land, British Columbia
DATE @ TIME: Sunday September 21st, 2008
REPORT BY: Thomas Steenburg.
Mr. Mike Q of Chilliwack, B.C. Contacted Gerry Mathews of west coast Sasquatch to report seeing a sasquatch while hunting. Gerry passed on the information to Bill Miller whom rushed out to meet him at the location later the following day. While there a search was conducted and attempt was made to recover the rock which was claimed to have been thrown by the creature. The next morning Bill contacted myself and in company with one other person, another search was carried out. One fairly good footprint was found by myself and another not so clear possible print was found by the third person. Photos and measurement were carried out on the good track. Length was aprox 13 inches. width along the toes was approx 8 inches. wide at metatarsal brake. I covered track with two upside down skunk cabbage leaves.

Q.Tell me the story. Tell me what happened.
A.I was walking down this road, up along Ruby Creek. Umm this marshy area. Moving real slow, keeping an eye on the bush. Looking for deer, bear. Umm, caught a glimpse of something black out of the corner of my eye, moving. No sound at that point, Just something moving, so I quickly swung my upper body towards it and I saw a rock! 12 to 15 feet off the ground, umm kind of arcing down towards me. Landed in the bog. Seemed like right next to me, but, I don't know where in that bog it landed but it seemed like it was right there. Um, so I paused, sort of going through my head, you know, where did it come from, umm, lots of things went through my head but nothing made any sense. I backed up a little bit and was looking at this grove of trees, saw something black start to move, and it took off like a rocket I could only see a small amount, like a piece of it through the dense trees that were there. It took off. Straight up 50 or 60 yards, it stopped, it took off again, another 60 yards or so I guess, stopped again, than it took off until I could no longer hear it moving any longer.

Q.What was your first impression?
A.My first impression? Holy nuts! ha ha. Than I started thinking that i had walked under somebodies tree stand and they were wiping a rock at me to get me to take off.
Q.At first did you think it was a man?
A.At first, well, not. The thing that moved? No. At first I thought a person threw a rock at me, but then I saw the thing take off into the bush, and theres no way that was a man.
Q.How did you react when you first saw it?
A.I froze.
Q.What was it doing?
A.At which point, what do you mean?
Q.When you first saw it?

STEENBURG NOTE: That first second was the clearest view mike had of the subject. Q.Lighter than a man? Heaver than a man. Man size?
A.It seemed to be about 5 feet wide. It was big.
Q.How long do you think you saw it for?
A.Oh. half a second. At most.
STEENBURG NOTE: Mike is talking about the moment he first spotted the subject. Hes not including brief and partiall glimpses as the subject moved around the the bog in thick cover.
Q.Did it see you?
A.I'm pretty sure it did. Ha ha.
Q.What was it's reaction?
A.It threw a rock at me.
Q.And than what did it do?
A.Than it split.
Q.Did you notice any facial features?
A.No.
Q.Could you tell if it was male or female?
A.No.
Q.Did you notice anything about the arms, legs etc?
A.No.

A.No.
Q.Have you ever reported anything like this at anytime to anyone else?
A.No.
After the interview was over I had a long visit with Mike and his family, as well as a friend which had come over out of curiosity. It appears that Mike has been taking quite a bit of ribbing from his friends and workmates whom have been asking things like "Mike. wheres your ape"! I also have the impression that his wife and daughter don't know what to make of all this! Mike tells me his wife keeps suggesting other possibilities other than a Sasquatch. Though she seems to be open minded to the idea. Mike has thought of little else since and has expressed a desire to come along on other investigations to find out more. As of right now investigations into this area will continue.
