Hi Everyone @ WCS!
First of all, I must thank every single one of you for the support! Our last meeting at Sasquatch Provincial Park (Harrison Hot Springs) with special guests Mr. John Green, Mr. Chris Murphy and Mr. Thomas Steenburg was a blast! If you missed it, you can always read about it on bcscc.ca or westcoast-sasquatch.com.
The Oct 4th 2008 workshop and Pot Luck will be our last outdoor meeting for the year. This will be an unique meeting since our major focus is on:
1. Footprint castings.
2. Identify real and fake sasquatch footprints (if there is no real sasquatch available, we have to use humans for comparison).
3. Photographing footprints (digital and film).
Time and Place:
Green Point Day Use Area, Sasquatch Provincial Park (near Harrsion Hot Springs).
10:30 am
Please dress warm and bring rain gear and rubber boots etc. This event will go on rain or shine! If you have folding chairs, please bring them as well.
Please contact me with my new bcscc email address:
swang@bcscc.ca
Please let me know what are you planning to bring for the pot luck, so we don't end up having 15 people bringing the same thing. I will bring my BBQ and cook hotdogs and chillies (chilli dogs).
I am looking forward to see all of you again!

Important Update!
i change the meeting place from Green point to the main beach of Harrison Hotsprings (where they have the sand castle competition). The reason is that there is no sandy area at Green Point. The main beach at Harrison Hotsprings is a much better choice for footprint casting. Hope to see you there!
cheers, seb

Hi Sebastian We will be there, ---- after the great time we had at the last meet, I wouldn't miss it, just remember there are no picnic tables (if I remember right) at the main beach, also there's nowhere to fasten our tarps to if it rains. Will let you know later what "pot luck" we're bringing --- really looking forward to seeing you again......... Barry

Thanks for the reply! Okay, so far I (and Rachael) will be making chilli dogs (with cheese?) and Zoli will bring potato salad. If you have small folding table please let me know. We need tables. I have a few (3) 10'X10' gazebos now. There will be quite a few researchers from Vancouver Island as well as the Sunshine Coast. I am also thinking of trying HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography on footprints. If you have a digital camera, please bring it.
cheers, Seb seb

Only a couple of weeks away now folks! I thought somebody might like to read about HDR photography before we get out there. It might be a way to get as much lighting information in one photograph as possible. May highlight some of the details of a footprint... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_dynamic_range_imagingA tutorial: www.vanilladays.com/hdr-guide/I've been fooling around with it and have gotten some interesting results from landscapes, it could be fun to try it on tracks.

Next weekend folks! Last chance to do something outdoor before the hockey season! If you have any question, please post it here! Please remember that the new meeting place is at the MAIN BEACH of HARRISON HOT SPRINGS! not Green Point anymore (too rocky). Meeting time 10:30 am.
cheers, seb

Well, I'm looking forward to Saturday if i'm feeling okay - been having some yucky days lately. I wondered if anybody was able to bring some material for making casts or if someone would mind letting me know what material is required and i could bring it. I really would like to learn how to make casts and thought being on the sand it might be an ideal place. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Also looking for suggestions regarding what i can bring re: food.
Thanks,
Chrissie

Thanks everyone for attending and delicious array of food! The footprint castings turned out very well! I will clean up the casts and post up some pics! Special thanks to John Green for letting us use his "fake feet", Thomas Steenburg demonstrating plaster mixture % and the casting process and Chris Murphy for donating the sand box to us! The sand box is now at Thomas' place and will put to good use for sure!
cheers, seb
