I asking if anyone here knows of any recent Sasquatch activity between Salmo & Nelson or between Castlegar to Midway. All these places are in the south east & southern part of British Columbia. There is a couple of abandoned rail lines between these places I want to hike there fore I want to keep my eye out for any possible sightings.

A couple of years ago I moved some people from Lethbridge, Ab. to Nelson, B.C., in the mid part of spring. I arrived in Nelson late in the afternoon(around 6 pm ) instead of getting a hotel room for the night as I was by myself I decided to sleep in my truck in the agents yard(star transfer) at the bottom of hiway #6 coming into town. While I was reading the newspaper around 9 pm with my window down I heard a loud wailing/moaning sound coming from the southwest of stars yard.It sounded like the screams from Washington state, these sounds kept on for about an hour and a half. The next morning I awoke and went into the agents office for coffee I mentioned to the staff about the sounds I heard but they did not say to much. The guys that helped me unload that day said the hippies liked to drive into the farmers market area in behind the warehouse at night and smoke their pot. The only thing is if anyone was to come in there they would have to have driven within 20 feet of me and I really do not think any human could have made tose sounds. All in all it was a really cool night sleeping in my bunk.

I know that there are any number of reports from that part of the province. As a matter of fact, it surprised me as to how many there actually were.

I thought that you might find this interesting. I was told by a minister at Salmo, who had a federal employee that attended his church, that Salmo was in a valley called "The Valley of Spirits" and natives regard it as forbidden territory and that if you were a native working for the federal government (as with the RCMP etc.) you could be exempt from being posted there!!!

Long histery of reports in that area doc. I used to hear about them quite often when I was in Alberta, made quite a few trips there as well. However since moving to the west coast I haven't heard of to much.
