Hi, I've just talked a co-worker earlier tonight. He claimed that in 1976 he saw an animal which fit the description of a Sasquatch. It happened in around 2:00am on Duffy Lake Road (when it was still a dirt road). He and his girl friend was driving a truck with only one headlight. Half way up, the other headlight burnt out too. So, they had to stop and pull aside. They stepped out their truck and looked around. He saw a big and dark shadow just off the road. It was running or walking fast just inside the bush. He first thought that it was a standing bear, but then realized it was walking on two legs. It was hairy, had a flat face, and it was big. It was moving around them and stopped. At one point he saw its head and he said that it was covered with hair. Never got a good look at its face, he added that its eyes shone yellow. They both got scared and went straight back into their truck.
Now, is yellow the common colour of Sasquatch eye shine reported? What about red (not glowing)? I think that Thomas has a report of bluish green (Coalmont). That's not a very common colour reported. Any comment?
cheers, seb

Hi Sebastian, Thanks for the excellent report. Here is some information I gathered off the Internet by using the search term "Sasquatch eyeshine" on Google. It believe the results yield a wide variety of colors reported by witnesses having had possible sasquatch encounters. Some extremely interesting information regarding the great apes and eyeshine on the "Eye Shine of Bigfoot and Other Animals" page at the link below: Source: unifiedworlds.com/eyeshine.htmEdited to add this excellent piece on human eyeshine seen in some photographs and what causes it: www.rain.org/~mkummel/stumpers/20oct00a.htmlAlso the following article on bigfoot eyeshine: Bushman

Hello,
I am the co-worker, that Sebastian is speaking of.
In 1976, I was driving the Duffy Lake/Pemberton/Whistler road with my girlfriend.
This was before it was paved, it was gravel in those days, and quite rugged.
We were both in our very early 20's and my car was a 1967 Cutlass Supreme.
My gal was getting kind of loaded, drinking beers on our road trip, and it was kinda bumpy.
It was the middle of the night, no moon, and very dark.
Anyway, we were driving along, bumpity bump, over the potholes and my headlights died.
Just died.
No headlights, no dash lights, nothing.
I had to pull over to the shoulder cuz it was pitch black.
I got out, popped the hood, to look at the wires or whatever.
My gal-friend went off to the left side of the road to take a pee.
Im tapping the headlights and fiddling with the wires to try and get the headlights working, when I heard a noise just off the road, in the brush.
I pulled my head out from under the hood, and walked over to look out to the side of the road the noise was.
There was an 'animal', running along the shoulder in the brush, about 30 feet off the road, running fast. Parallell to the road.
It was running upright, at a very good clip, on it's hind legs.
It was large (larger than a human), and fast.
Hairy, flat face. Muscular. Thought it might be a bear. But damn, it sure didn't look like a bear.
Freaked me right out.
The thing was running along effortlessly, through brush, around the boulders, and other roadside debris.
It turned and stared right at me, as it passed, and it's eyes glowed in the dark, a very pale yellow luminous effect.
As it passed by me , (it seemed scared of me, although I was nutstin' myself), it veered off it's path and ran off into the bush.
I immediatley started yelling to my gal friend, found her, asked her if she had "seen that"? She said no. She was on the other side of the road.
We both got back in the car, and stayed there untill somebody else drove by (with headlights), and we were able to follow them out of the bush.
I can remember to this day how that thing so effortlessly ran along through the brush, upright. I keep telling myself how it must've been a bear, but wow, it sure didn't look like a bear.
It didn't make any noise, other than the rustle of the brush it was running through.
For it's size, (like I said, it was bigger than a human, much bulkier) it moved quite gracefully and quickly through the terrain.
A very spooky night.

Er...ah...questions...! You say this occurred at 2:00 a.m? No moon? Very dark?
Then you say...
"I got out, popped the hood, to look at the wires or whatever."
"There was an 'animal', running along the shoulder in the brush, about 30 feet off the road."
Then....
"Hairy, flat face. Muscular. Thought it might be a bear. But damn, it sure didn't look like a bear."
That is a lot to see in the pitch dark. I have spent an odd night walking lonely country roads and when it is moonless, it is dark..so dark you can hardly make out which direction the road is going..let alone what is happening under the hood of a car...or even 30 ft away.
Am I missing something here?
